So I was thinking about art and how I can make a living out of it so I thought why not start doing art commissions but I ain't got a clue how to start or how to promote it. Any comm artists got any advice for me?

It depends on what kind of art you are hoping to do.
First you would usually want to start out with a twitter account, and/or a few other social media accounts on platforms that you can promote your art.
You would want to set up either a Google doc, carrd.co page, or something else with links to your socials, how to contact you, terms of service for your commissions, and a price sheet.
After that is all set up, the rest of it is about advertising/getting your art out there. Post your art on your socials, or in communities that allow commission advertisements.
Then you just wait for people to contact you.
A major thing is though is to limit/watch out what platforms you accept payments on, to try to stop/lower the chances for people to charge back on you.
