Hey everyone. We've heard feedback about certain frustrating elements in Breach Executable, and we have a couple of changes planned for next week's update to improve the experience.

First off, some enemies were hitting a little too hard—particularly those affected by both Void Threat and Air Superiority/Blasts. We want to keep a bit of variety in our modifiers, so because Void Threat is constantly applied we're removing it from Expert Breach Executable.

We will also be improving the hunt for Planetary Pistons and Radiolite samples with several changes:

💠 Guardians will always be able to find two Pistons in each run of Breach Executable
💠 Piston waypoint range is increased for easier visibility
💠 The delay before being teleported to join allies in the next encounter has been increased. This means you can continue to extract samples when your teammates push ahead.
💠 Extracting Radiolite samples is now instant, so you can get back into the action faster.

We have also investigated the reports of Guardians being unable to find specimen NES003 and start the research quest for the Week 4 Seasonal Challenge 'Research and Development III.

This specimen was originally intended to be found during Week 4. However, this issue will be resolved at the next weekly reset.

Thanks for the feedback concerning our new Iron Banner schedule. To be transparent, this is a sort of experiment as we feel out the new Episode/Act structure.

Under this new cadence of Iron Banner appearing for two weeks in a row, Trials of Osiris will experience fewer interruptions over the course of the Act. In the past, Iron Banner would appear once every few weeks.

Now, Trials of Osiris will be available for 7 to 8 weekends in a row before the next Iron Banner week begins. You will still have the same amount of Trials/Iron Banner to play, this is just a change to how things are scheduled.

Facet of Hope is not currently working as intended and we have a fix scheduled for July 2 that will address the inconsistency in its performance. First, we are fixing the issue causing Facet of Hope to not work with Amplified as intended.

Second, we will be fixing and issue causing Facet of Hope to stop working when a buff with a shorter timer ends even if you have a second eligible buff still active.

Finally, we wanted to take the chance to clarify how Facet of Hope works. Facet of Hope’s class ability regeneration is active while you have any eligible buff that stays active long enough.

This means Frost Armor, Woven Mail, Restoration, Radiant, Void Overshield, Devour, Invisibility, and Amplified will all receive Facet of Hope’s benefits when Facet of Hope is equipped.

Hey all,

We've noticed reports and observed data that suggests XP earn rates are slower than expected. We're investigating further, but in the meantime, we've enabled a change with Update 8.0.0.6 that increases the total Weekly Rest bonus by 150K XP over its 250K XP base.

This temporary increase will be available each week until the issue is resolved. Stay tuned for further updates.

We are continuing to investigate issues related to gear and characters not loading in various activities including the Tower, Excision, and PvP modes.

We recommend that players experiencing these issues fully restart their game as a temporary mitigation.
We will provide additional information when available.

Some additional context:
Issue is a bit deeper than initially thought. While an attempted fix was issued on Tuesday, we're still seeing reports of gear loading issues in multiple activities.

Once the team has identified the underlying issue and has a projected fix timeline, we'll let you know.

Until then, it's highly recommended that you close and restart Destiny 2 if you begin to see player gear not loading, including your own.

Most frequently, we see reports of this occurring after completing a Raid encounter or Excision activity.

Episode: Revenant - Story Availability Clarification

For our next Episode, Revenant, each Act's entire story will be available to play as it launches instead of week to week.

Our goal is to give players an opportunity to play at their own pace. We'll be monitoring feedback when these changes go live.

We'd also like to note specifically that Episode: Echoes will continue to have weekly story beats for Act 2 and Act 3.

Ritual Reputation Fix

Hey all,

For some time, we've been investigating an issue where Titans and Hunters were incorrectly receiving reputation boosts in Crucible, Vanguard Ops, and Gambit. Starting today this issue is resolved, and all classes should correctly be earning the same amount of reputation.

We are planning some reputation bonus weeks for Crucible, Vanguard Ops, and Gambit in the future as a form of make-good for this issue. All classes will be included. Stay tuned for announcements!

Iron Banner: Matchmaking Update - July 11, 2024

Hey all,

Today we're pushing some server-side changes to update matchmaking settings in Iron Banner. Our goal for these changes is to address feedback concerning the variance of Skill-Based Matchmaking in Iron Banner when compared to other Crucible offerings. This change will widen the potential skill-values of participants from match to match.

We'll be monitoring the feedback as these changes go live.

Master Raid Triumphs - Incoming Fix and Oops All Challenges Week

Hey all,

Tomorrow, we'll be issuing a fix to address Master Salvation's Edge Challenge Triumphs not unlocking properly. Moving forward, these Triumphs should unlock when their requirements are met.

At this time, we are unable to retroactively credit players who completed Master Challenges. We understand that this can be frustrating, not only in that it's difficult content, but also that challenges are only available once per week.

As such, we are planning to enable all Salvation's Edge challenges for a full week, starting on July 23 at weekly reset. This should give players an opportunity to complete all challenges on Master difficulty to earn their Sparrow and Title rewards. Players will also be able to earn one Adept weapon per challenge completed at Master difficulty, per character. That's... a lot of Adepts.

We apologize for the inconvenience but hope next week will be a good time for those looking to jam out Triumphs, earn raid loot, and maybe even try for some fun "house rule" challenges. Flawless, Master, All Challenges? Auto Rifles and Shotguns Only? Looking forward to seeing what you've got.

Havoc Hardware

#bungie-server-status has identified an issue where Havoc Hardware is being featured alongside normal Hardware settings in the Crucible Labs node. Both are currently displayed as 'Normal' in the mode selection list.

Havoc Hardware is the second option, as identified by the "Havoc Rules" modifier.

We'll be looking to address this in a future update. Until then, we're happy to hear feedback on both modes.

As a reminder, Crucible Rep is increased in Labs. Happy hunting.

Still Hunt & Celestial Nighthawk - Damage Reduction Update

A few weeks ago, we announced that the Golden Gun shot from Still Hunt would be receiving a reduction to damage when paired with the Celestial Nighthawk Hunter Exotic Helmet.

While testing the change, we discovered that a slightly larger reduction in Golden Gun damage was required to bring this Exotic pairing into line with other classes. The updated total reduction to Still Hunt's Golden Gun damage when using Celestial Nighthawk will now be 33% less than the current functionality, and our patch notes have been updated for tomorrow to reflect that.

We are extending the "Challenge week" for Salvation's Edge by one additional week. As an issue impacting associated Triumphs lasted for multiple weeks, we want to ensure players have appropriate time to plan/complete the encounters they need.

We've identified an issue impacting Exotic Class Item drop rates. At this time, Tier 4 Overthrow Chests are not contributing to increased drop chances, nor can Exotic Class Items be awarded through them.

We're currently developing a fix, aiming for a near-term hotfix. We are also looking into giving players a way to chase specific perks in a future update. More details as plans solidify.

Hey all,

We have identified the issue that was forcing a high number of Bungie name changes. We have applied a server-side change to prevent the issue from impacting accounts moving forward.

We are continuing to investigate options to address player accounts that were impacted. This will take some time as our path forward will be dependent on fixing the underlying issue. As noted yesterday, we are still planning to distribute name change tokens to all players at a later date to assist.

As we have more information, we'll be sure to share it with you.

Update to Destiny 2 Restriction and Ban Policy - Input Macro Loot Farming

Starting today, we have revised our Restriction and Ban policy (https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049517431-Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies) to include the use of input macros to automate gameplay. While input macros can be a beneficial accessibility tool for many—and we intend to keep it that way—some have been leveraging these tools to automate gameplay.

**Players detected using automation to circumvent idle detection or perform automated activities to earn loot may be restricted or banned. Loot includes, but is not limited to, XP, materials, or drops (e.g. Exotic class items). **Automation or circumvention includes, but is not limited to, the use of programmable controllers, keyboard/mouse adapters, advanced macros, or artificial intelligence.

We have no plans to retroactively issue bans or restrictions to anyone, and any bans or restrictions related to this policy change will be issued for future infractions. Players who are currently using or have used macros for the above purposes may receive an in-game message warning against the future use of macros. Additionally, a small amount of account actions have been issued over the last few days for unrelated Terms of Use (https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/terms) violations.

As a final note, accessibility in games is important to us. As we continue to look at opportunities within Destiny 2 to expand upon accessibility options, we want to ensure players who are using macros for the purpose of accessibility will not be actioned upon.

Destiny 2 Update 8.0.5.2 has begun rolling out across all platforms. We wanted to note that a last-minute issue was identified concerning Solstice Armor Ornaments. Unkindled ornaments options (Non-Glow) are not currently available to unlock on Warlocks. Additionally, these ornament selections do not currently have text strings.

We plan to fix this in a future update.

Patch Note Preview : Destiny 2 Update 8.0.5.4 (Early September) - Following changes target Smoke, Swarm, and Threaded Specter abilities on Hunters. These changes are both for PvE and PvP. As always when previewing patch notes this many weeks out, the following bullets are subject to change if any issues arise. Stay tuned for further updates!

Threaded Specter Aspect

  • Increased cooldown duration of Marksman Dodge and Gambler's Dodge when Threaded Specter is equipped
  • Removed dodge cooldown penalty after creating clone
  • If the clone is destroyed by attacks, it no longer spawns Threadlings
  • Increased the amount of time the clone will distract nearby combatants before exploding

Swarm Grenade

  • Increased Swarm Grenade base cooldown duration by 15%
  • Moved Swarm Grenade to a slower recharge tier for non-passive grenade-energy gains

Smoke Bomb melee

  • Reduced the time the smoke bomb projectile lingers in the world from 10s to 3.5s
  • Reduced the player movement-speed penalty imparted by the smoke by 25%

Additionally, we have a few more changes planned for Episode 2. While we wanted the following to ship alongside the above changes, they needed just a bit more time in the oven.

Threaded Specter

  • Increasing detonation damage vs. combatants by 33%

Swarm Grenade

  • Swarm Grenade submunitions will be easier to shoot
  • Swarm Grenade submunitions will chain-detonate nearby submunitions

Hey all,

We're loving the many clips of you destroying Overload champions and Nightfall bosses with the new Choir of One Exotic Auto Rifle.

While we're greatly enjoying your domination of enemies, we wanted to make sure to communicate early that there are currently a couple bugs that we've identified with the weapon:

  • The weapon is holding far more ammo in reserves than was originally intended.
  • The hip fire projectiles of the weapon are dealing more damage than intended when buffed by Divinity.

We've started planning bugfixes for these, we're holding until Episode 2 so you can have a fun time with a slightly... overtuned weapon. Bank error in your favor! Go shred some Raid bosses or leverage those auto rifle artifact mods in Grandmasters. Show us the mayhem.

We'll have more details on a fix in the next month or so. Until then, have fun.

The Hunter Exotic Mask of Fealty is not consistently producing the spread of Withering Blades when defeating a frozen combatant. The effect works as normal when shattering a Stasis Crystal.

  • As noted yesterday, Artifice armor is not currently dropping in Master difficulty.
  • We're investigating an issue where Augments sometimes do not spawn.
  • We're investigating an issue where enemies holding Augments can sometimes spawn in unreachable places.
  • We're investigating an issue where some secret codes are not working consistently.

We have discovered a missed patch note for Destiny 2 Update 8.1.0 regarding ignition damage versus bosses. After an initial ignition, bosses now gain progressively higher damage resistance to ignitions that occur over a short amount of time (five seconds of DR from last ignition to take place).

We have identified an issue where these subsequent ignitions are doing far less damage than intended. We are planning to tune this damage resistance appropriately, and for it to only apply to the Vesper's Host dungeon boss Raneiks Unified, rather than it being game-wide.

We are planning to address these issues in Update 8.1.5, planned for Mid-November. Please stay tuned for more details.

Class-based Trials Labs is coming this weekend. Dominion rule set, and a fresh Adept weapon up for grabs if you reach the Flawless chest.

No more than one of each class per team, so every team must be comprised of a Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, with no duplicates! We currently have this scheduled to run twice during the Season, and we are very interested to hear your feedback on how it plays. Matchmaking will be active, so you can play solo or in a duo and the matchmaking will find players who do not match your class to fill out your team.

Now's a good time to get practice in with your fireteam and pick which Class each of you will be running. Who's got dibs on Titan? Warlock? Hunter?

Regarding further reports of perk weighting:

While we have confirmed that there is no intentional perk weighting on weapons within our content setup, we are now investigating a potential issue within our code for how RNG perks are generated.

Many thanks to all players who have been contributing to data collection across the community. This data has been monumentally helpful with our investigation, and we are currently working on internal simulations to confirm your findings.

We will provide more information as soon as it is available.

As you head into Class-based Trials of Osiris, we have a few notes:

  1. We identified an issue where some players were not receiving Trials vendor engrams as they progressed Trials rep. As such, we have enabled increased Trials reputation for the weekend.
  2. A new Flawless Shader should now be available from the Flawless chest.
  3. This week also features increased Crucible loot drops; this applies to Trials drops as well.

This all adds up to the following: Trials reputation, post-match and Flawless chest rewards are increased! That's... a lot of loot.

We're currently looking into some inconsistencies for rank gains and losses in the Competitive Cricble playlist. Until resolved, we're making some slight changes to the amount of rank that can be gained or lost from a given match.

This should mitigate the effects of the issue as we continue to investigate. We will provide additional details at a later date.

Our team has been working through community-sourced data and internal simulations to reproduce reported issues regarding legendary weapon perk RNG.

After investigation, we can confirm an issue has been found in our code where some random perk combinations are harder to earn per legendary weapon perk set. In some cases, desirable perk combinations are a bit easier to earn as well. While we inspected our content and confirmed each perk is weighted equally, an issue in perk pool RNG is the culprit here.

Our team has quickly identified a potential solution to the issue, and we are rapidly working to validate the fix.

We are aiming to address this as soon as possible and will share a planned hotfix date when available.

The team is continuing to make progress in addressing issues impacting Perk RNG. Currently, we are targeting a hotfix for November 5, 2024. As this fix will touch code for a game-wide system, we're giving the team a bit more time to fully validate the changes needed to address this issue.

In the long-term, we're looking at a few options not only to thank many of you for your data-crunching, but to get some weapons in your hands that had perk rolls with lower RNG chances than intended. First and foremost, we found a fitting emblem deep within our vaults that almost seemed destined for this.

The emblem will represent a moment in time when many throughout the community came together to help us identify this issue. Between your data and our simulations for hundreds of thousands of drops... we're all becoming Conquerors of Infinity.

Tomorrow (Nov 5), we are planning to issue a fix for RNG Perk Weighting Issues in Destiny 2 Hotfix 8.1.0.4.

We'd like to take a moment to thank all our community members who helped in identifying this issue. In thanks for their efforts, and to help players get their hands on a few impacted weapons, we're planning the following:

⚔️Starting November 19 through December 3, the Vesper's Host Dungeon will offer double drops for encounter and activity completions.

➡️Both weapon and armor rewards can drop from encounter completions. This will be a great time to hunt for your desired rolls on weapons, or even hit Master difficulty to earn some Artifice armor.

🤖Starting November 19, Banshee-44 will have a small collection of weapons in the Tower with curated perk rolls. Our goal is to get you some perk combinations that were a bit harder to earn due to the bug. We do not currently have a planned deadline for acquisition, but we recommend picking these weapons up at your earliest convenience.

Raiju’s Harness - Planned tuning for December

Despite this Hunter Exotic working as intended, some of Raiju’s Harness’ new behavior has been confusing to unravel for players. So, to make the benefits more evident, we will move up the floor on its Super energy generation and lower the ceiling slightly. Overall, this should feel like a net increase in Super energy gained.

Though, sadly, these changes came together a little late to arrive next week, so we’ll be adding this tuning in a later patch (December), but we wanted to give you all the notes regardless.

Re-tuned Super energy granted by defeating Arc-debuffed combatants.

  • Minors: Increased Super energy granted from 0.3% to 1%.
  • Majors: Increased Super energy granted from 1.7% to 2.5%.
  • Players: Increased Super energy granted from 3.1% to 4%.
  • Minibosses and bosses: Decreased Super energy granted from 4.5% to 4%.

Decreased amount of Super energy granted for defeating Arc-debuffed combatants while Gathering Storm is being cast.

  • Maximum total energy granted this way remains the same, at 50%.
  • Note: The lightning summoned by Raiju's Harness on allies and enemies near the user will always apply status effects before dealing damage.

We had originally planned for this weekend to feature Endless Vale, but we're currently working through an audio issue that impacts situational awareness on the map. Once this issue is resolved, the map will re-enter rotation for a future Trials weekend.

We have identified an issue where the Dawning Event Card Upgrade could be acquired for less Silver than intended. (None, whoops!)

Until this issue is resolved, the Dawning Event Card Upgrade will not be available for purchase. Players can still complete free event card triumphs and earn free rewards as expected.

Once this issue is resolved, players will need to re-acquire the Dawning Event Card Upgrade for 1,000 Silver.

UPDATE: We have identified the underlying issue impacting the price of the Dawning Event Pass Upgrade.

At this time, we are planning the following actions:

  1. Players who obtained the Dawning Event Card Upgrade while it was incorrectly listed at no cost will keep it. Bank error in your favor - Happy Dawning!
  2. We will be issuing a hotfix (timing TBD) to fix pricing issues on the Upgrade, which will unblock players from making progress on both the earned and upgrade tracks.
  3. When resolved, players who wish to purchase the Dawning Event Card Upgrade may do so for 1,000 Silver.

Once we have additional information on our fix timeline, we will provide updates.

We are developing the following changes to Tonics, planned to release on December 17, 2024. Our main goals are to give you far more opportunities to earn the weapons you're chasing with Tonics and decrease instances of Tonics running out mid activity.

Planned changes are as follows:
1.Legendary Tonics will guarantee the associated weapon drops when triggered directly to your loot feed, rather than being shared across multiple Episode: Revenant weapon drops. You will see these drops as you defeat enemies or complete general activities throughout Destiny 2.

  1. Base Tonic Durations have been increased across the board, which can be further increased by Lab Equipment (Up to +50% in Act 3) accrued through Episodic Quest Progress.
  • Uncommon Tonic duration increased to 40 minutes (was 20).
  • Rare Tonic duration increased to 60 minutes (was 40).
  • Legendary Tonic duration increased to 80 minutes (was 60).
  1. General Bug Fixes to help address a small number of Tonics that are currently focusing wrong weapons or armor.

  2. Legendary Tonics now affect the chances of obtaining the specified item from the relevant activity.

  • For instance, consuming a Tonic of Vantage Point (Onslaught) will increase the chances of that weapon dropping from Revenant Onslaught chests.

If any issues are found between now and release, some of the above plans may change. We'll be sure to communicate any changes prior to the hotfix release date if necessary.

We're currently investigating an issue where some players can become "stuck" during the introductory Dawning questline when being asked to bake cookies for Zavala. While we are investigating a solution to this issue, we have identified a potential workaround leveraging an alternate character.

After signing in to your alternate character, retrieve the Dawning oven and questline from Eva Levante in the Tower. Once acquired, collecting required Gjallardoodle ingredients and giving Zavala his cookies should unblock progress, and unlock further Questing, Bounties, and more.

While players may work around this by completing Dawning quests on alternate characters, we are currently investigating the root cause of this issue and looking to address it as soon as possible.

Dawning weapons now correctly have a chance to drop with extra perks in the left and right columns after obtaining the Perky Presents and Perkier Presents upgrades on Eva Levante in the Tower.

We've seen conversations around Slayer’s Fang’s ability to do self-damage and apply Weaken to yourself if you're hit by the ricocheting projectiles. Note, the Weaken is only applied while Nightsworn Sight is active, while the self-damage always happens. This is intentional for both gameplay and narrative reasons and we wanted to give a bit of insight into our thought process.

A lot of ricochet projectiles or explosives do self-damage (Sleeper Simulant can even kill the user) and it’s an important balancing measure. If you are taking a cheeky shot around a corner or just firing from the hip, the self-damage provides a balance to ensure high risk, high reward usage.

On the narrative side, Slayer’s Fang is aware of its use as a tool for destruction and doesn’t lend its power to its wielders easily. You may find that if you mishandle Slayer’s Fang, the gun with a mouth for a barrel may just bite back a little. With the ultimate Slayer Baron weapon in your hand, you may not fear dreams nor teeth, but you will want to handle it with care.

So, appropriate for its design and narrative goals, Slayer’s Fang does a little damage plus a short Weaken instead of outright killing the player. As always, we are happy to see the feedback and will continue to adjust sandbox atoms accordingly.

When Destiny 2: Heresy launches on February 4, players will be tasked with infiltrating the Dreadnaught once more. Along the way, you'll be earning some sweet loot, helped by the Tome of Want.

💠 On day one, you'll unlock the "Tome of Want", giving you options to focus on earning specific weapons, armor, or currencies in addition to general loot drops you'll earn during gameplay.
🔋 As you complete Heresy activities, you'll earn Essence of Desire to power up your Tome's rituals, and Scriptures, which will specify the desired rewards.
📜 To keep you better informed of ritual progress, the Tome's tooltip will display a progress bar, indicating when you’ll earn your next specified reward. This lives entirely within your inventory.
📈 Progress is gained by defeating powerful enemies and completing activities. You'll get more progress from Heresy activities, of course, but minor gains can be earned from various activities throughout the game.
⚔️ As we get deeper into Heresy, you'll be able to upgrade your Tome to be more efficient, increasing the number of rewards that can be earned through a single ritual.
✏️ Additionally, Tome Engravings will be unlocked over time and augment a number of Artifact Perks with additional effects. These effects will activate any time a ritual is active, within the Tome.

With the release of the Nether activity within the Dreadnaught, we're looking to treat health as a resource that players need to monitor throughout gameplay. At this time, healing-centric builds and options (Weapon perks, Exotics, and Abilities) are not working as we'd intended.

Additionally, we are aware that many healing-centric builds are difficult to see or feel with Guardian health being increased by 200%. Overall, the health bar contains 3x your normal health values, so healing feels fairly low and slow!

We're looking to take a balance pass quickly and are targeting a patch as early as next week to address these issues. Stay tuned for updates.

We have identified an issue where Lodestar, the new Exotic Primary Trace Rifle, has far more aim assist than intended.

As such, this exotic will be disabled within PvP modes (Crucible, Gambit, and Trials) until resolved. It can still be used in PvE content to complete pathfinder objectives or seasonal challenges.

After an investigation, we have discovered that Finality's Auger, the exotic found in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon, isn't currently dropping as expected.

We are actively investigating the root cause and discussing options to address this issue as soon as possible.

We are currently planning a fix for players who did not receive the Redrix's Estoc Competitive Pulse Rifle after completing their placement series.

We understand that this weapon shipped a little hot in the Crucible, so the following changes are also being planned for Act II:

  • Tuning Sword Logic Damage against players in PvP.

  • We will be adding this perk to more weapons in the future and need it to be in line with our other damage perk options in the PvP sandbox. This will not affect PvE efficacy.

  • Reducing the handling stat on Redrix's Estoc.

  • Walking back some of the buff that Lightweight Pulse Rifles received in Destiny 2 Update 8153.

  • Note: These will still perform better than pre-buff. Just reducing the damage buff slightly to lower some of the forgiveness.

We've identified an issue where our 3v3 Solo vs Fireteam Loss Protection can sometimes be affected by a networking condition, causing it to fail.

To better protect solo players until resolved, we will be walking back yesterday's change which allowed 2-player fireteams to match against 3-player fireteams without delay. The Loss Protection as it currently functions will remain enabled, and we will be attempting a fix tomorrow. Once we have verified the fix has taken effect, we will reenable the matchmaking changes.

Additional Patch Notes Fixes

We've just added a few additional fixes to the 8.2.5.1 patch notes that weren’t reflected on the initial post. These are all currently live in-game with today’s update.

Radiant Dance Machines

  • Set up custom tuning for Tommy's Matchbook, The Last Word, and Dead Man's Tale so that they do not get any range increase from Radiant Dance Machines but still receive some of the accuracy bonuses.
  • Fixed an issue where the precision angle threshold when using Radiant Dance Machines was higher on mouse and keyboard than on controller.

Weapons Perks

  • Fixed an issue where the Legacy Intrinsic Frame precision angle threshold was higher on mouse and keyboard than on controller.

Q: Will vault space be increased?

A: Vault space is not changing in The Edge of Fate, but we do have additional vault space and quality of life features planned for Renegades later this year. Stay tuned for details.

Q: Will the new Portal feature fully replace the Director?

A: The Director will continue to be available through a "Worlds" tab next to the Portal. Our goal with the Portal is to get a more streamlined experience for all players to find the fun quickly and understand what's next for them to do in Destiny.

Q: Some items were shown at 10 Power in the stream, what’s going on there?!

A: We'll have more details on Power caps and climbs in a future TWID but can confirm that Power will be rebased at launch! All players will have their Power refreshed as we embark on this new journey.

Q: What stats are being rebalanced or replaced?

A: As shown in the stream, many of our stats are being fully rebalanced or changed with The Edge of Fate. While we don’t have exact details to share just yet, we are planning a full breakdown in June, alongside a lengthy article covering sandbox tuning between weapons and abilities.

Looks like we missed a patch note. With Update 8.2.6, we fixed an issue where the Sumptuous Repast upgrade within the Reshaping Slab was providing extra damage when consuming Sigil Stones even when the Suffocating Terror debuff wasn't applied. This upgrade now functions as intended.

We're aware of an issue where the Competitive Reward area on Lord Shaxx has been pushed down the page and that rewards cannot be claimed. Once Heavy Metal ends next Friday, players will be able to claim items from this area again.

Starting today, our planned Rite of the Nine Dungeon Calendar will be changing. Each Dungeon will be featured for two weeks as opposed to three, and we are increasing Nonary Manifold currency drop rates which can be exchanged for additional weapons. With this change, Ghosts of the Deep will now launch next Tuesday, May 20 followed by Prophecy on June 3.

Alongside the above change, the second week of a given dungeon will also feature increased weapon drops, where rewards can drop from any enemy defeated. Holofoils are included in this as well!

For this week, we are rapidly working on an update that will turn on increased weapon drops in Spire of the Watcher until Ghosts of the Deep becomes the featured Dungeon next week. We'll let you know when that's deployed.

Starting on June 17, all Rite of the Nine Dungeons will be available to play at any time on any difficulty - and increased currency drops will be active for all three dungeons. Each week a featured dungeon will have increased weapon drops. This will begin with Spire of the Watcher on June 17, followed by Ghosts of the Deep on June 24 and ending with Prophecy on July 1.

On July 8, a "lootapalooza" will begin; all three dungeons will have all rewards bonuses enabled for the final week of Episode Heresy alongside a new way to spend your Nonary Manifold currency. We hope this gives all Guardians ample time to hunt for Holofoils and Adepts as they prepare for The Edge of Fate's launch on July 15.

Increases to Nonary Manifold currency drops are live. This increase will apply to all Rite of the Nine Dungeons moving forward.

We are currently working to apply weapon reward increases to align with our calendar changes that were discussed yesterday. Once this change is live, Spire of the Watcher weapons will have a chance to drop when defeating enemies within Explore, Eternity, and Ultimatum difficulties of this activity.

When The Edge of Fate expansion launches on July 15, the loot pool for Trials of Osiris will be refreshed to use the new Gear Tiering system with new and reprised loot.

Starting with The Edge of Fate, Trials of Osiris will no longer be power enabled. While we will still have a required power level of 200 to enter, combat will not be affected by your Guardian's power.

We hope this makes Trials more approachable to a wider audience while still maintaining a competitive feel through the Passage system, maps, and mode on offer.

As a final note: Trials access requires ownership of the most recent Destiny 2 expansion; Starting July 15, players will be required to own The Edge of Fate in order to play Trials of Osiris.

With today's launch, here are some emergent issues we're tracking:

❖ Players receive WEASEL errors when launching into PvP playlists. To mitigate this, you can launch PvP from The Portal instead.

❖ PlayStation 5 users are experiencing intermittent audio issues.

❖ Some players using 4K displays have issues getting past the login screen. As a workaround, lowering the screen resolution can help resolve this issue, and we've seen success deleting/resetting the CVARS file. Instructions to do that can be found here:

Reminder: Contest Mode for The Desert Perpetual raid begins on July 19 at 10 AM PT. Contest Mode is set at 100 Power. Completing The Edge of Fate's campaign at Legendary difficulty will get you contest ready.

We do have one update to the experience to highlight: Previous expansions would provide a chest upon completion to give players a set of gear to raise them to a specific power level. For The Edge of Fate, players should expect to reach 100 Power simply through end of activity drops at Legendary difficulty, no additional chest required.

Note that Side Quests and Ability Chests on Kepler will also reward Powerful gear, you can complete these during or after the Campaign on any World Tier. However, by just doing the Legendary Campaign Missions you will be Power ready for Contest Mode.

Hey all, welcome to day 2 of The Edge of Fate!

As we continue to process feedback, we'll be shooting out some clarifications and additional information to help players better understand many of the changes to core systems within Destiny 2.

First up: Ammo! We've seen some feedback regarding ammo bricks. In the new system, ammo bricks drop more frequently and consistently than before when defeating enemies but contain less ammo per brick. If you are feeling short of ammo, there are some buildcrafting options you can leverage to increase your ammo drops/amounts per drop:

  • All weapons except Swords have an Ammo Generation stat, which influences how much they contribute to the Ammo Meters
  • You can improve the Ammo Generation stat using the Ammo Generation armor mods (Chest), or the Bandolier or Abundant Ammo mods on the weapon itself
    ⁠- Finder mods (Head) directly scale all gains to the meter for the corresponding ammo type, and can stack up to 3x
  • Scavengers (Legs) grant extra ammo on pickups for matched weapons
  • The newly introduced Weapon stat from 100-200 also offers an escalating chance for ammo bricks to contain additional ammo, and your chance can be seen on the inspection screen

We are also investigating a few weapons that are receiving less ammunition than intended (some Area-Denial Grenade Launchers, Rocket Sidearms, Bipod Rocket Launchers). Once we have details on a fix, we'll let you know.

Re: Bright Dust and Pathfinder
We are going to add an infinite grind source for Bright Dust, and pair it with a make-good grant in an upcoming update.

In our effort to reduce friction to playing activities, we chose to retire the core game Pathfinder in favor of simpler Daily objectives with an improved and unlimited mini-objective system planned for release in Renegades later this year. Knowing we were removing the infinite grind source until Renegades, we rebalanced Bright Dust awards to be larger for most players. It's clear that many players also value having the additional grind source, so we will add an interim replacement in the short term.

We are going to revert the desaturation of the World tab in an upcoming update.

During development, we had feedback that players were confused between the Portal and World tabs for where to find core game activities. Many gravitated to the familiar Director UI, so we chose to visually adjust it, but it is clear now that we overreacted to that feedback.

Our intention going forward is for the Portal tab to serve as a quick access point to core game activities, and for the World tab to support exploration of the Destiny world. Both are important to us, and we will continue to upgrade both.

We've been investigating reports that ability regen was not recharging at the rates communicated in a previous TWID following the 9.0.0.1 update. Many thanks to our community sleuths who discovered this issue and brought it to our attention.

Right now, the ability stats (Grenade, Melee, Class, and Super) are returning less ability energy than stated in our previous communications.

We had previously stated that hitting 70 in an ability stat in the Edge of Fate was equivalent to pre-Edge of Fate values (for Discipline, Strength, each class's ability regen stat, and Intellect), and that going above 70 stat would result in faster recharging than before. This isn't currently true for the 70 stat mark but the 85 stat mark, and we intend to make it true for 70 stat in an upcoming patch.

Our design goal for the Edge of Fate stats is to let players be able to reach higher heights than previously possible in the game by investing heavier into specific stats, but also have interesting tradeoffs when making build crafting choices. Making 70 stat one of the big tradeoff points is important for our design goals and for meeting player expectations for buildcrafting in the Edge of Fate.

A full breakdown of how the stats are being corrected will be shared in the accompanying patch notes (above is the simplified version). Suffice it to say, mistakes were made and we're sorry for the accidental confusion here. We intend to make it right quickly. Once again, we appreciate the members of the community who noticed this discrepancy and pushed it forward for our attention.

UPDATE: We have deployed a server-side update to address PlayStation 4 console crashes.

As a short-term mitigation, we have temporarily swapped the appearances of armor pieces known to cause crashes for other, existing armor. Once we are able to verify and release a full fix for the issue's root cause, this change will be reverted.

We are additionally investigating a different crash type where PS4 users are unable to log in to Destiny 2. Players who continue to experience crashing issues are advised to fully uninstall Destiny 2, then reinstall without downloading compatibility packs 1, 2, and 3. We have resolved an issue where players who played through "The Invitation" on Classic difficulty were unable to go back and replay it on Legendary, blocking them from earning the Legendary campaign completion Exotic. We have auto-completed the requirement for this mission for everyone.

We've been watching feedback the past few weeks focused on Raid and Dungeon difficulty. The following changes are being planned for future updates:

  • We will be updating the difficulty for Legacy Raid and Dungeon activities to address player feedback.
    • The Combat Difficulty Delta for normal and master modes will be reduced by 10
  • We will also be updating difficulty and the "Combined Mastery" Triumph in the Desert Perpetual Raid to address player feedback.
    • Base Combat Difficulty Delta will be lowered by 10: Enemies will deal less damage and players will be able to deal more damage.
    • We will be lowering the Cutthroat Combat Raid Feat, specifically the Combat Difficulty Delta, by 10
      • Was +40 combatant power, will be +30 combatant power.
    • We will be lowering the "Combined Mastery" Triumph to only require a single completion at base difficulty, which will upgrade Gear rewards by one tier depending on number of feats active
    • Example: Instead of getting a T1 reward, you'll get a T2 reward. Layering on additional feats will increase difficulty but also help you get to T3 rewards and beyond.

We're currently testing these changes and aiming to release them in Update 9.0.0.5 and will update you if anything changes.

Crucible Reward Changes
As part of the overall goal to improve the feeling of rewards and progression across the Portal, we're in the process of updating Crucible rewards across all playlists.
Earlier today we shipped Destiny 2 Update 9.0.0.6 with a handful of changes to target post-match rewards frequencies, and have more changes planned for September to focus on Power & Progression in Update 9.1.0.
Update 9.0.0.6 went live today, and we fixed some issues and raised the reward floor to have less disparity between low and high skill:

  • Everyone in a match now has a chance to earn an additional roll, as opposed to 1 player per team.
  • The Competitive playlist weapon (Solemn Remembrance) has a chance to drop on completion instead of wins
  • Lowered B-grade score threshold for reward ranks Copper and Bronze (power 10-300)
  • This makes it easier to earn Bonus Drops and Bonus Focus rewards in PvP.
  • Increased gear tier for B+ at reward ranks Bronze and Silver (power 200-400)
    In Update 9.1.0, we are making Crucible Ops more rewarding for all players, along with targeted adjustments for early power bands:
  • Increasing Bonus Drop frequency when playing Crucible Ops
  • Increasing the amount of score earned on losses
  • Re-tuning score thresholds for all grades at reward ranks Copper and Bronze (power 10-300) to make earning higher power and gear tier more consistent
  • Increasing the highest potential gear tier at reward ranks Copper, Bronze, and Silver (power 10-400)
  • Increasing power adjustors for PvP (power 10-300)
  • Increasing chances for Prime Engrams
    We'll have more details about PvE rewards changes in the future, including the Desert Perpetual raid. Stay tuned!

We've heard your feedback on the current Iron Banner armor set as well as the overall state of unique and compelling earned rewards. The overall balance in paid and earned armor cosmetics is off for this season and we're aiming to adjust our approach to earned rewards in the future.

In the short term, today we will be changing the visuals of Iron Banner's Iron Beryllium set to instead use those of the upcoming Ancient Majesty set, shown here. The Iron Beryllium set's original visuals will be available in a later update. The Ancient Majesty set will now become the Iron Banner set and will not be made purchasable on the Eververse store. There will be a temporary issue where the gear will still show the Iron Beryllium set's original icons - we will fix this in a future patch. We also note that the theme of the set's name and Set Bonuses may not match the new visuals - we'll aim to update this as well.

In addition to last week's incremental Ash & Iron reward increases, we're also working on bigger improvements to progression via the Portal on top of the Update 9.1.0.1 changes going live today. We will share additional information about these efforts in this week's TWID on Thursday.

Update regarding Unstable Cores:

Last week, we announced that Unstable Cores would not reset with the launch of Destiny 2: Renegades on December 2, 2025. We noted in the TWID that we would provide future updates on how we would rebalance the economy of this currency.

We have landed on a plan to fully deprecate this currency. Once deprecated, infusion will cost an amount of Enhancement Cores and Glimmer.

Overall, we've found that Unstable Cores have been too restrictive across power levels and fail to drive interesting buildcraft decisions, whether they be powering up through Campaign missions and wanting to try different weapons, or going into Endgame content and looking to infuse lower-level gear to higher power levels.

We don't have an exact patch for this change just yet but are working rapidly to align on a target date. In the short term, we have two items of note shipping tomorrow with Destiny 2 Update 9.1.5.1. Our goal is to help players with smaller amounts of Unstable Cores infuse gear alongside Power and Progression changes going live tomorrow until the currency can be retired:

  • We have added a one-time reward of 777,777 Unstable Cores to the catch-up chest that will be available in the Tower tomorrow at reset. We highly recommend signing in and using these before they're removed!
  • We are shipping a minor change that reduces the number of Unstable Cores needed for infusion at higher power levels until they are deprecated.

Festival of the Lost begins today! We have one quick update regarding rewards before our spooky event kicks off. Last week, we noted that players could earn up to two bonus Eerie Engrams per day from Portal Activities. To get more treats in your hands, we're increasing the cap. We initially thought 777 would be a good target but landed upon... 99,999.

Effectively, no cap! No tricks. Just treats.

Completing Portal activities has a high chance to treat you to Festival of the Lost bonus engrams, spread around and earnable in other Portal activities. While the best way to get themed loot and additional bonus drops will be through Haunted Altars or Red Rumble, we wanted to make sure players could partake in Festival of the Lost goodies no matter what activity they choose to engage with within the Portal.

Want to fill your candy buckets in the interim? Use this workaround: in the first phase of the boss fight, wait the 10 seconds until the Shriekers close, and then complete the damage phase to avoid the soft lock.

Update on Festival of the Lost Bonus Engrams and Soft-Lock.

We have resolved an issue where players were not earning Festival of the Lost Bonus Engrams from PvP activities. All Crucible Ops should now be awarding these Bonus Engrams alongside the rest of the Portal.

Additionally, as we continue to investigate soft-lock issues in Haunted Altars, we have temporarily disabled Join In Progress for those activities to reduce the frequency of players launching into runs that have already locked.

As a reminder, Festival of the Lost will now run until reset on November 11, 2025.

Upon investigation, we have found a cause of soft locks occurring in high difficulty Portal activities was an issue that could occasionally break behavior of the Limited Revives modifier. This will be fixed tomorrow with Update 9.1.5.3. We will continue to monitor for additional issues after this fix is released.

This update also has fixes for players getting blocked when transitioning to a new Altars wave as well as on the final boss when going through the first damage phase too quickly.

We've deployed the following changes and fixes as a live update:

  • Set the Salt Mines activity to only have Taken combatants (not rotate between Dread and Taken) during the Call to Arms event to maintain a consistent experience when earning points in Solo Ops runs.
  • Removed Cutting Edge as a requirement in all Crucible modes to invite further buildcrafting in the PvP environment.
  • Fixed Zone Control mode not recording a player's higher scores after their first registered score.
  • Fixed an issue where the Iron Banner quest Testament of Strength was overriding the Call to Arms event quest.

More improvements are planned for upcoming live updates:

  • Remove Power Multipliers as a scoring factor in PvE and PvP activities. This means that players at 500 Power can earn the same scores as those at 550 Power if they execute properly within the activity.
  • Change Boons to add 0 red or green triangles; Players will be able to choose any Boon without impacting their overall score.
  • Change all gear player stakes to add 5 green triangles in Call to Arms activities, matching "All Bows". Our goal is to give players the opportunity for more variety in selecting modifiers during this competition.

The team is also actively investigating the following:

  • We are looking into increasing Revive Token quantities in The Coil activity.
  • We are investigating reports of enemies remaining immune even after all shield drones have been destroyed.

We will continue to monitor feedback as the event progresses and provide updates on our plans.

Thanks for your continued feedback on our first Call to Arms event, Guardians. We've deployed a live update that introduces the following changes.

  • Tuned scoring so that the lower Power you are, the more of a boost you will get to your Call to Arms score to offset the score impact of Power.
    -- We expect this to mitigate most but not all of the advantage that Power currently conveys. This should broaden the competition by elevating players who can quickly complete activities with difficult modifiers while still giving high Power players an edge.
    -- For example, with the right activity modifiers, a 300 Power player playing on Master difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 30% score today and a 400 Power player playing on Grandmaster difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 10% score today.
    -- Note: For players under 550 Power, be aware that your Call to Arms score will not exactly match your Portal Reward score.
  • Changed Boons to add 0 red triangles. Players will be able to choose any Boon without impacting their overall score.
  • Changed all gear player stakes to add 5 green triangles in Call to Arms activities, matching "All Bows". Our goal is to give players the opportunity for more variety in selecting modifiers during this competition.
  • Removed the Protected modifier (those pesky drones) from all Call to Arms activities. The score from that modifier has been added to the Close Danger Trade-off modifier.

We will be listening for your input on these Call to Arms changes. Be sure to claim your Daily Shipment of gear from Devrim in the Tower!

We have discovered an issue in Renegades where players who preview or have loadouts with Wormgod Caress equipped will encounter a WEASEL error.

This issue can be mitigated by updating your loadouts today either in-game or in the Companion app to temporarily remove this Exotic.

After Renegades launches and you log in, you can add the Exotic to your loadouts again as new loadouts that include Wormgod Caress will not cause this error.

We're investigating an issue where Loadouts that include Exotic armor ornaments can cause a Weasel error code when inspected or equipped.

As a workaround, we advise players to update their Loadouts to remove these ornaments until a fix can be deployed.

We're also investigating an issue where some equipped Exotic armor ornaments get unequipped when logging in. Players can safely equip these ornaments again.

We're aware of an issue where players can get in a stuck state opening the game interface while Drifter's cutscene plays in Tharsis Cantina.

While a fix is being investigated, it's recommended to not open your inventory, quest log, or menus until the quest progresses to prevent this issue.

Alternatively, pressing ESC on PC or the Back/Cancel button on controller to skip the cutscene also avoids this issue. If you are in this stuck state, you can change characters to get out of it.

We wanted to share additional information on issues we are tracking through Day 1 of Renegades.

We've identified an issue in the Welcome to the Frontier mission where the Piker Gang may not spawn properly. While we work on a fix, we recommend letting the objective update to "Defeat Piker Crew" before killing any of the Dregs or crouching through the tunnel as this should allow you to progress normally.

For players in a stuck state during Mission Imperium trash compactor sequence (when "Joining Allies" appears), please ensure that you do not aim at or shoot the jammer before being prompted to do so.

Finally, we are still investigating a separate issue where players are unable to enter the Hawk at the start of the Welcome to the Frontier mission. A reported workaround is to unselect your Renegade abilities, relaunch the mission, and then reselect your Renegade abilities as this may resolve the issue and allow you to progress.

We have corrected the selection of available Banes in higher-difficulty matchmade Portal content to fix an issue where players were unable to reach intended score thresholds and earn greater rewards.

We've identified an issue where Renegades campaign activities and Lawless Frontier Jobs default to Normal difficulty. Players can set the difficulty to Expert when launching into these activities if they would like to earn greater rewards.

Completing Jobs on either difficulty will not impact Legendary campaign completion triumphs.

Due to an issue where the Cabal variant of the Typhon Imperator Solo Op can cause a crash, it has been disabled until a fix can be deployed in a future update. Players will still be able to access the Dread variant without issue.

Additionally, we have temporarily disabled an Eliksni variant of Sabotage activities so that players no longer become blocked if the final boss does not spawn.

Upon investigation shortly before release, we found the cause of a soft lock occurring in the Coil activity when players exited the Riven vendor screen without purchasing anything. This is planned to be fixed and the activity re-enabled next Tuesday, December 9, with Update 9.5.0.1.

This update will also introduce a handful of activities which will launch inside the Portal in Fireteam Ops:

  • Birthplace of the Vile
  • The Arms Dealer
  • Defiant Battlegrounds: EDZ
  • Warden of Nothing
  • Exodus Crash

Additionally, with the launch of Renegades, specific activities in the Portal have moved to a weekly map rotation including Reclaim, Expedition, and Onslaught.
While we continue to investigate a fix to increase starting tokens in Contest of Elders, we have made a live change to increase the ways players can earn them, including:

  • Adding HVTs to encounters that reward tokens when killed
  • Rewarding tokens when completing bonus objectives and critical objectives
  • Rewarding tokens for skipping the Cryo Chamber encounter

We are investigating an issue where players are losing access to Lawless Frontier activities after finishing the Renegades campaign, potentially due to the quest The Territory War Begins being present on other characters on the account before those characters have completed the campaign.

As a workaround, some players are reporting that changing their faction, abandoning The Territory War Begins, then reacquiring it in Tharsis Outpost causes the Lawless Frontier activities to reappear.

Let us know if this workaround does not resolve your issues so that we can investigate further.

Welcome to the first weekend of Destiny 2: Renegades!

As we see more players finishing the campaign, we want to highlight that the highest quality gear a Renegade can find is in the Lawless Frontier. Guardians looking for Tier 5 gear will want to complete the "Fellow Friend" triumph and then visit Spider for an upgrade that permanently increases all subsequent Lawless Frontier gear rewards.

After acquiring this upgrade from Spider, all successful Grandmaster Lawless Frontier activity completions with an A grade or higher will reward Tier 5 gear.

⌚ Open Access has been extended until December 16, 2025.

We have prepared a fix for a crash that players are experiencing while fighting The Witness. This issue will be resolved with Update 9.5.0.1, deploying on Tuesday, December 9.

As a result, Open Access will be extended so that all players will be able to complete The Final Shape campaign in its entirety.

The Final Shape and all other Open Access content will remain unlocked for all players until December 16, 2025.

We will be implementing the following changes to the Fire and Ice Exotic Mission in response to community feedback:

  • Reduced the time required to interact with the pyramid activators in the boss arena to one second.
  • Changed platforms in the boss arena to be solid on Legendary difficulty and adjusted their positioning to offer more protection on both difficulties.
  • Fixed an issue where players were blocked from earning the Upper Hand or Hyperblade Catalysts for the Praxic Blade after acquiring one of the two.

Thanks to your feedback, we investigated the crystal drop rates and found Dark Matter Crystal: Cyan drops far lower than intended. It's meant to be rare, but not this rare. We're monitoring feedback and drop rates of other crystals, so far Cyan appears to be the only outlier.

We will be deploying a fix which significantly increases the Cyan crystal's drop rate from Exotic Contracts in Update 9.5.0.3 on Tuesday, December 16.

Players may see more Guitar errors across Destiny 2, especially in longer-running Tower instances. UPDATE: The issue affecting the Flamecaller, Mindsculptor, and Death's Majesty Sets has been resolved. Players with them equipped should now be able to log back into Destiny 2 without issue.

The team is investigating an issue where the Triple Laureate Hand Cannon's sound effects are not playing when used. To prevent an unfair advantage, the weapon has been temporarily disabled in Crucible activities.

Zavala is indeed impressed by your performance and celebrates that his Community Challenge of 15 million PvE enemies defeated has been met in just five days.

In light of this, he has escalated his Commander's Orders: reach 50 million PvE enemy defeats using the Vanguard-issued weapons he listed before reset time on May 12 to earn an additional, unreleased emblem for all participating Guardians.

The Animal Instinct emblem has been delivered to players who qualified during Guardian Games! Make sure to check your Collections in Flair > Emblems > General to receive it.

Please note you'll need to log in to Destiny 2 before the emblem shows as available on Bungie.net or third-party websites.
