I’d like to enable two factor on my Cloudflare account but the interface prompts for my account password, which I don’t have for this since I’ve only been using login with Google. Is there a way to use a Google login for this or should I just reset the password to have an actual Cloudflare password?

According to the documentation, there is no direct mention of using Google login for enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) on Cloudflare. However, it is mentioned that you need to have a verified email address to enable 2FA, and that you should not attempt to enable 2FA without verifying your email address first, as you may lock yourself out of your account.

In your case, since you've been using login with Google, it's likely that your email address is already verified. To enable 2FA, you can try resetting your Cloudflare password, as you mentioned, and then follow the steps to enable 2FA.

Here's a relevant excerpt from the documentation:

"To enable two-factor authentication for your Cloudflare login:

  • Under the My Profile dropdown, select My Profile.
  • Select Authentication.
  • Select Manage in the Two-Factor Authentication card.
  • Configure either a TOTP mobile app, security key, or email 2FA."

It's recommended to reset your password and then follow the steps to enable 2FA. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
