TS4 to Paralives - Blooming Rooms Kit Surfaces

yoooo as a former sims 3 player who learned to yoink meshes from there like a decade ago, i considered doing some conversations myself but i am possibly unnecessarily worried about legal repercussions like dmca copyright notices because their meshes are their own copyright usually. do you (or anyone i guess) happen to know if there are any protections given that it’s not being used for profit?

I think as long as you’re not uploading them to a place with laws and policies in place like the steam workshop. Plus if EA can come after little ole me for simply putting their mesh in a different game I think they have a little much free time on their hands. 😅

Just as a heads up, be aware that this is in fact a copyright violation for the majority of the world. laws and policies around this aren't necessarily platform specific unless a particular platform is registered/hosted/operated out of one of the few locations in the world that don't legally uphold international copyright standards. (Which, operated by an American company, Tumblr is not.)

Taking legally protected assets from a game and placing them into a competing game of the same genre is absolutely good enough reasoning for EA to tell you to stop. If EA decides they do want this taken down, they are very well within their right to tell Tumblr to take it down, who I've heard can be a bit trigger happy with just removing entire blogs. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Paralives team removes this thread 😬

I think just about the only "protection" is that EA isn't going to waste time and money on formal lawsuits for such small things - but they certainly do have enough legal weight behind them to easily make things disappear (also, don't be surprised if EA does nothing, you think it's safe, do more, and THEN they have days/months/years of your conversions removed.)
