I tried using the round spotlights for a stage and they only point toward the rear wall of the homestead in a cone regardless of orientation. If you move it out of that cone it just cuts it off

only when you know the last gene is double dominant. (all came from one parent which never produced a different colored (same/better quality) flower). If you have Dominant/recessive last gene you might produce the recessive gene flowers, but usually dominant will win.

There is no such thing as male/female plants. I use the terms Parent/child. Where the parent is the fully grown (or same growth stage as child flower). And the child each take 1 allele from the parent and 1 from itself for each gene (6 total).

Also as someone who studied game art for university. I'm incredibly annoyed by the collisions and lighting objects in the homestead as it just makes zero sense

Collisions make things less optimised, and using lots to foliage typically already isn't very grateful optimisation wise

So giving every plant their own colliders is a terrible idea

Realistically only things like pot plants and tree trunks/branches should have them

And as for the lighting, it's not hard to make a spotlight that moves and rotates

The issue with the cone spotlights in the homestead seems to be more so that the cone doesn't like to retain its rotation and resets to the default angle, and when it does, the viewing angle becomes completely bugged

As if you need to stand where you had it originally rotated to and looking in the direction of the original rotation to get it to actually light something

But at that point it's lighting the wrong thing

Someone in the art department royally fucked it up lmao

If anyone has access to the CN server I'd love to know if they fixed any of it in season 2

If not we may want to create a document that logs all the issues we've noticed and then submit it to the devs

I'm not sure what non-focus mats can be added. When I looked into it briefly, I didn't notice a pattern.

However, if a roommate makes an entire furniture piece, everyone with furniture permissions can access it. You can have everyone specialize in one skill if you have roommates you communicate with.

All roommates are moved to the host homestead. You can leave that homestead and talk to an NPC to recover your old one. It will retain your level and furniture inventory but I think furniture will have to be placed again.

there is a period of time before the flower fully blooms where you can manually pollinate flowers by collecting pollen from a fully grown flower that you don't own.

in short, just ignore it, it's just another timer that you have to sit through since your setup allows the floers to self-pollinate.

Leveling up the Homestead reportedly raises it. There's no way to keep track of placements, but the limit is ~250 so you won't hit it without going pretty hard.

I had the same idea to build a library and i already figured out a solution with the books,
just use different colors of carpets and put them sideways into the display, this should work with different colors of rugs etc.. hope this helps :3

The people that worked on snapping tool and camera movement in homestead when placing things has never used a 3D software before. It's so bad. 😭 Let us align camera to a two point perspective and lock it when we move items around. Automatic vertical correction shouldn't be difficult to add.

Can't manually polinate your own flowers since you can't gather pollen from your flowers. If you gather pollen from someone else's flowers, you can use it to manually polinate flowers

it does account for height as well yes. so placing them above/below you still need to maintain that 1.6x distance to avoid cross pollination

If my math is right, we need about 3 of the dotted squares (1.5~ outlined squares) between flowers for cross pollination to not occur. So the "Wooden Square Column (Short)" is exactly 3 squares long. Could I use that as a measuring stick of sorts?

1.6 is the distance in squares from the center(which is not perfect centered on the flower plots annoyingly) so having them with a gap of 2 squares on the grid should be fine
