i cross bred an aabbC_ddeeff with an aabbccddE_ff

so the only possible outcomes for both flowers was aabbCc or ccddEe or eeff since only 2 letters were unknown

both of them hit cc so it was clearly Cc and I won the 50/50 there twice, but i either lost 2 50/50s or was guaranteed to get 2 Ees either way

technically even if the childs lost all the flips and theyre all CCs now there's a 1/4th chance to turn them back to Cc and then a 1/4th chance to hit black flower on those ones

so shouldve seen 1 in 2 generations on avg?

Basically center flower needs to reach pollination stage (right before being fully grown) well before the surrounding flowers. Thus by only watering the surrounding flowers they grow slower than the center (with fertilizer and water).

And I ran a bunch of sims on the replacing greens in the first place and it only really optimized it by <5%. The thing is you might get stuck more often with all the same color flower but if you just recycle all of them when that happens you can just keep continuing with reds.

New seeds are red flowers (AaBb CcDdEeFf). So they show as fully dominant. I used to think that a red flowers existing past first plant was a bad idea but in reality its not really worth destroying.

No, the best for coins are usually purples. And generally Hydrangeas are the best when you get lvl 5 homestead for advanced fertilizer.

basically you can look up the price of your tulip, then compare its icon (to confirm its the same one, since some flowers share sell price). And how far down it is is basically how "inefficient" it is vs a max flower.

would just depend how much you actually make if its 1 then its awful, 2,100 homestead coins 1500 per craft just in bone meal (buying base material then crafting bone meal). if its 10 then it could be worth.

yeah, as they will pretty much always be Ee/Ff you can then breed off that one for a higher chance at EE and FF in the child flowers and replace them.

but you just need to get 20 of them and separate them all and you don't have to worry about Ee's and Ff's messing up and creating black flowers.

Does fertilizing a flower near the end skip the pollination, I had some tulip with 30m left and fertilized them and they skipped the pollination.

actually you really should spread them out. Basically there are some things with how flower see the nearest flower to pollinate from. From what I know I know it prioritizes above, and to the right for example (allowing pollinating up to ~1.5 tiles away). So some of your flowers might be pollinating off the other neighbor in such a tight setup.

It does skip pollination, but it should still pollinate (receive genes from parent).
