You will share farm plots and must give them permission before they can plant anything. Only the person that planted can harvest, but the others can collect pollen from mature flowers.

My friends and I entered the house together, but the problem is that the 12 slots we have are shared, while the coins earned from selling harvested flowers are not. In other words, out of 12 slots, the four of us end up with only 3 slots each — but if we were playing separately, we’d each have 12… what’s the logic in that? I end up losing rewards just for being with friends, not to mention that every time the house levels up, the same thing happens — only the owner gets the coins, turning what should be 4x rewards into just 1x. If someone who understands could shed some light for us, I’d really appreciate it.

I think the upshot is that you have multiple people farming EXP for the homestead through commissions and can more easily decorate by splitting responsibilities.

But, I'm with you--I think they should increase the maximum flower plots for each roommate.

Are you saying the items aren't in your inventory anymore? It sounds like all of your furniture was returned to inventory, but you should be able to press H and place it again.

Both the fields and crafting table are placeable furniture, so they get recalled to inventory when you join another homestead.

Generally speaking you can only put commen items and precious items into the warehouse.

Common items include toys, fish, ocean trash, and marine creatures. Precious items include combat food buff consumables, potions, and dyes.

By "food" I refer to consumable items, as far as I know the life skill for cooking can turn monster meat and other items into said consumables which you can than stuff into the warehouse.

It's the same as running a dungeon 2 extra times. If making the treat takes longer than it takes to run the dungeon twice, it isn't much help imo.

That is not correct. anyone can harvest and plant flowers. a friend of mine just say, unless the person harvest it, that plant them, no one can replant flowers. Whoever make the funiture will keep them after leaving the homestead.

On PC, you just have to click and drag to the left.

If they're gonna add an achievement and system like that actually putting in a way to understand it instead of just ramming your head into a wall to figure it out would be nice

Are you harvesting multiple at a time before replanting? Because Ideally you pick one up immediately replant it, look at the rarity or confirm its genes in the sell menu. If its bad you recycle the field and re-plant it with a fresh seed. If its considered "worth keeping" or near perfect then you move it off by itself.

@ocean hamlet I have heard that once you can buy the lvl 5 fertilizer that hydrangeas are best, but would be a very long time to set up with proper genes (and I need time to do the testing, still trying to perfect a bit and getting unlucky with my tulips).

Another reason for hydrangeas being best is tulips you 100% miss due to the need to sleep, I cant remember the exact times roses/hydrangeas actually take when watering/fertilizing so I can't compare them right now.

There is no Male and Female for the flowers, there is essentially the parent, and the child (yeah i know weird).
Basically the child inherits 50% of its genes from the parent and the other 50% of the genes from itself.

In this the parent for all the 4 outside flowers is the center flower. (We avoid picking the center flower as it has good genes to spread to the child flowers).

When we do something like this where they both grow at the same time (both in pollination stage at the same time) then they are both child and parent to each other.)

Excuse my poor quality but essentially I started like this to get their base seed traits, how do I know which one is a good flower to start breeding from I assume all the red ones are just common so its gonna be one of the white/purple ones?

Also I've read the guide and idk if its just poorly written/explained but I genuinely just don't get it.

For example over here from what I understand there's a way to use pollen to influence your plant but when I harvest my flowers I literally only get my flowers? no pollen, unless there's like a 5hr period to grow from planting -> harvest and another 5 hour window to collect it before it fully matures (I only visit my homestead once a day currently, so it's fully grown by then).

If there isn't a period and it's more of a passive suggestion (leave a flower up to influence the partners) it could be written bettter to reflect that?

Also the in brackets (if you are not isolating the flower) makes it seem more confusing. If u didn't isolate it to start you don't know its base genes right? How would that help you down the line, since apparently some genes can be present in the flowers but not visible in its traits? That could also just screw up your breeding down the line, no?

and then theres this confusing section which introduces A as size/shape, and then says A is red in the example below instead of say Cc/Cc (pigment/color), and I assume the example has a typo? Meaning to say CC/Cc/Cc/cc where its 3:1 ratio cause dominant would hide the recessive unless it inherets no dominant trait

Further confusing example with saying the male parent randomly has 5 traits but doesnt tell you what or how you would know? Also mentions right before it that any flower can be male or female but then below it says specifically straight small bud flowers are male, and then bent large bud flowers are female? so if one finishes growing and it looks like a 'female' one, I cant put 4 plots beside it and breed using it?

the ideal for homestead coins is actually 1 Dominant gene as the you can just plant and harvest over and over again. With the black seeds as soon as they change to black you don't get the seed to replant.

Yeah, we did use fine-tuning, but every other game with housing and similar features snaps things correctly. Fine-tuning should really only be needed if you’re trying to do something very specific.

Also, about the height issues — for example, when you buy wooden stairs and place them inside a house, the available walls are taller, so where are you supposed to start building the second floor? I accidentally got 5 black flowers before knowing we had to do genetic breeding and picked them up like a monkey. After that I decided to learn how to properly breed them and 2 days later I had 2 black tulips to breed off of and then got 4 more patches in a single cycle to finish my achievements. Now my roommate is using my 3 parent black tulips to speed run his achievement I think he got 5 in his first cycle, or at the very least 2 cycles planting fresh seeds around them.

It was the only thing holding me back from Paragon, turns out shiny gold dragons can motivate you to learn when my first time seeing the breeding system made me go “nah fk this, this is infinitely worse than animal crossing I’ll just wait for the rng”

I'm not on my computer rn so I don't have the spreadsheet link I used for gene identification, but don't buy more seeds than you have plots to plant. Plant them all near each other cuz direct sides will transfer some genes until you get a white flower. Don't pick up the white flower, plant around it in a (plus) + shape so all the new side grown plants take genetics from that white flower (it has 2/4 recessive genes). Then pick up the 4 around it that grow 1 at a time and talk to the lady to sell them. You need to replant a purple tier flower in a new (plus) + shape location and put flowers around it like before. This flower has 3/4 recessive genes. You want to keep getting purple tier flowers from the white centered + to put around the new + to try converting them into a black flower. Then when you have a black flower DO NOT PICK IT UP. That black flower becomes your center for all + farms and you can use it to get more.

Flowers are pollinated by an adjacent fully grown flower. You plant them in cross shapes with a fully grown flower in the middle so that it pollinates the surrounding flowers.

After completing enough main story quests, you'll get a guide quest called Ocean Platinum Card. Completing that quest will unlock your homestead.

However, the total number of fields allowed doesn't increase. I have a few set aside for various roommates.

All of your commissions will level the host's homestead so you will very quickly get to higher levels and get access to more fields. In addition, all of your furniture queue slots are pooled and everyone can place created furniture which allows people to specialize.

The only sources of exp are commissions, flowers and furniture. Commissions are the largest of the three by far, so just make sure you and all your roommates do them daily.

Why do you make it so hard, isolating your +'s is crazy. If you have 2 different purple tier flowers you don't need to breed 5 of them. The reason you get 5 is cuz ur removing other necessary genetics. If you immediately plant one next to one that's different one of them will be black because it can only receive the recessive gene in the variable slot

you don't breed them on purpose, they are a product of a Dominant/Dominant purple rarity.

You have roughly a 50% chance that you get black flowers from the first purple

Breeding order from 0 is simple as look for white flower, make it a parent to get purple tier, if you get 2 different purples it's even easier. Otherwise growing the purple next to anything with only double recessive for its missing variable will result in a black parent for all future breeding in (like you're saying with 50%) only a few tries

I think our understanding of genes still don't align tho. ccddEEff/Ee only matters for the parent, if you were to replant the seed I believe it would change back to ccddE_ff cuz all planted seeds should have a changeable variable so we can influence its color. This is why isolating them in pods from the start can result in your 5 flower bricks

Hence why I would want to replant the ccddE_ff next to anything with ee to inherit

thats my point so to fix my aabb ccddE_ff (if its EE), I would need to crossbreed it with aabbccddEeff or eeff, giving it a 25% chance or 50% chance to fix itself with no chance of screwing itself over, the problem is finding out whether my plant is Ee. which requires putting it in its own plot and seeing if it can ever spawn a random plant as simple as CCDDeeFF (doesnt need to be a good plant, just needs to tell you that it has ONE recessive gene)

When planted by itself it would be the same cuz the variable has no influence to change. As a seed before growth I would expect it to have _

C_ddeeff and

Ccddeeff would be identical except the one with _ is a seed and the one without is a parent already grown

I mean the _ is basically just used to say "we have not confirmed if this flower is Cc or CC". As it can take multiple generations to confirm or deny the 2nd allele.

Ccddeeff is your ready to harvest it can't change until it's replanted, which is why in situations with EE or any double dominant parent when you have multiple flowers they start to brick because they aren't being replanted. You're doing extra tests on the parent unnecessarily to determine if it has EE rather than replanting it to upgrade it to black or keep it the same and try again. Ee vs EE on the purple doesn't matter if the end goal is a black parent that all recessive anyway

that requires you getting a better combination which is what i would prefer to do

when you try to replant it and repollinate it, you dont know if the new flower you're pollinating it with has double dominant CDF, or if its CcDdFf or all recessive

until you get a fully new one such as like ccddeeF_

then you're just gambling the e/f side since you dont know if the F is double dominant, its the same issue

until you confirm whether any of them has a single recessive gene pollinating 1 with 2 or 2 with 1 with a replant is an uncertainty

if its double F, i might fix my e on plant #1, but then ruin my F with an Ff

The purple tier flower has 1 variable, at that stage you can dupe purples to coin flip 4 of them at a time to be black around another parent with its missing recessive

You are never surefire guaranteed the black
