Some say atk% is better since it works on everything but if your skills have the melee tag on it then it doesn’t really matter. Personally from testing both, I say they’re about the same.

example: Wind knight tornado skyward, their tornado only scales off atk and not melee dmg nor range dmg

i tested both the the elite dummy and the 1.5% atk gave me 126k for 3 min and the 2% melee dmg gave me 130k for 3min so i guess if i had 2% atk it would be the same maybe

I think overall AS is the main number that factors into everything

you can have low AS and high damage, while dealing low damage, but you can have High AS and low damage, and deal higher damage than the former.

It means for that piece of gear as frost mage, it can give you either haste/mastery or crit/luck. All pieces of gear also have a small chance of it being wane meaning the stat pair will be completely random minus one stat that it can’t get.

Kanamia is probably the fastest with bots on M6 if you also want other things, but with bots on easy it might be goblin since you can one shot everything and its shorter to run through than wait for the boss phases

Marksman is decent in AoE and single target, good depends on your metric for comparison.

It's not top tier in AoE, it's worse than Moonstrike, Aerial, Vanguard, Frostbeam, Dissonance.

As for Deter shot, yes that helps you cheese some not all M19 and M20 floors in particular.

Frostbeam would be much more valuable on a newer account / server ( Which I assume iceu is ) because you have access to Icicle ( Top tier single target DPS ) and Beam ( Top tier AoE dps )

Both being significantly better than wolf in those aspects.

Even CN which is months ahead of us with way higher gear score only hit 4100~ rating ( max is 4200 ) because they can't perfect clear it yet.

And they can't perfect clear all M20's

The reason people like Marksman is for their Deter shot, giving team invincibility so you can cheese this boss past the enrage timer if you don't have the DPS, but they aren't required for literally anything else

Wolf also loses a ton of DPS running that ability

It's not something you need to worry about if you aren't aiming to clear M19/M20 anyway.

That's just a fact since it goes from top 1 DPS to not even top 5.

Why?

It gets 100% Crit rate for free so it has an incredibly strong start, other classes like Falconry and Iaido can't do their rotation without having enough crit so they are at the bottom of DPS.

Early game Wolf is OP because there's less stats for other classes, late game it falls off because it runs out of stats to stack and becomes oversaturated, you don't want much Haste either because after 46% attack speed you lose DPS on an ability going for more

While on the other hand other classes finally get enough stats stacked to get going.

"Get Attack Speed to 46%, usually this come from 6% module + 2% purple line * number of purple line you have + 3% built in + haste (1% haste = 1%attack spec)

DO NOT go for higher haste, haste DECREASE your torrent cast time.(by increasing cast speed),
Which make you get LESS torrent stack in photon

As a result, Flat Attack speed > Haste (and also just cuz diminishing returns.
You need to avoid pushing torrent valley to have lower than 2 second cast time (1.9= GG) since you lose a stack
Considering focus provide 20% haste, and eagle provide 30%"
