Now back to the original question; when they refer to both, they mean that certain classes can drop more than 1 suffix in their drop pool. In the attached image are ring drops, which is specified with Both in the Left image in the picture you were questioning. Highlighted in red are marksman named drops; highlighted in green are stormblade named drops; and highlighted in blue are wane drops.

Notice how Stormblades can drop both Illuminate and Mirage rings. That is what the original sheet refers to when they mean "both".

Stormblade is very tricky to play, but it's also pretty fun if you can nail down the combos, if you're on mobile or have high ping, that might hold you back in damage quite a bit

So a melee trying to hit in melee while they are crossed will explode

But if everyone goes out and stands by the person its just fine

it probably is better to leave them crossed and play it safe most the time since jerking the tethers around will kill most people or cause bad soaks killing more people inadvertently imo

To be thorough, even if the tethers arent crossed but are closeish together, a melee hitting in melee still might get clipped by both and die
