having played both frost mage specs, icicle is just far more apm, feels like an ff14 physical ranged with procs and multiple large dps windows. frost beam is press all buffs and channel frost beam and tidepool in your opener, then most things misalign for the rest of the fight unless you delay key-presses which loses you casts over time which loses you potential damage.

frost beam is better, over all. its just less single target damage than icicle, and way way too low apm for me to enjoy.

How did this work? Well for starters it relied on having 80 gear, legendary module and good purple lines.

You reached enough ATK speed ( 80% ) with Purple lines on gear ( 2% ) and Modules
You reached decent amount of crit rate ( around 20% ) base then more with Muku
You reached enough Luck to rotate skills properly through gear / gems
You reached a ton of Mastery because of the T5 crab
