in the settings, at the bototm of the third tab, there is a force clear. That clears all the photos you have locally saved if you really want to speed it up
For me it took about three days to fully update on my end, but others seen the new picture immediately

Since you can always dismantle the gear into 100% of what you put into it, it's a good option before you obtain your BIS pieces.
