Its meant to move your camera around your character since its the focal point its anchored too similar how you can just hold left click and drag your mouse to angle your camera

Ah, your using it to make a profile image/card. Yeah it doens't work for that, that's why. Those controls are for the camera mode when just out in the world and all that. The profile/card creator is a a lot more stiffer and janky.

this. 100% so many great skins ruined by not being modular. Ive submitted like 3 different feedbacks about this from beta as well. Theres enough division of the mesh so its not a mesh clipping concern. All outfits should be modular.
