I know about your situation from this morning but it’s a proprietary jack. Apple has a remote that’ll only work on this jack and I can’t find the part anywhere

This is an example of bad mechanical design by Apple - idea was sound (special port for remote controller) but execution was bad for everybody else.
Those ports are unobtanium (you can only get it from donor boards and usually will be broken as well) and prone to breakage with age.
