are you able to force it into the diagnostics mode?

woeful burrow
#

how do i do that?

Force restart the ipod (hold middle and menu) and then immediately hold middle+previous(left). It should get you into the diagnostics mode where you can go into manual mode and check different parts of the device with the most useful for us is usually the IO->HardDisk->SMARTData

Oops ignore how dirty my deskmat looks it's from eraser marks

when i do that and it says "Open device" i can hear noise from the ipod

yea they're picky with which cables

#

do you have an original Apple one?

woeful burrow
#

I don't think so

#

I got it from CEX yesterday

calm snow
#

Oh nice

#

An Apple original cable would be preferred, since 6th Gens are super picky with which cables you use

Warranty should cover it if

#

If not i'll just buy an official one

calm snow

Warranty? From CEX?
