i left it on charge for a while and the screen is white when i turn it on
are you able to force it into the diagnostics mode?
how do i do that?
Force restart the ipod (hold middle and menu) and then immediately hold middle+previous(left). It should get you into the diagnostics mode where you can go into manual mode and check different parts of the device with the most useful for us is usually the IO->HardDisk->SMARTData
Okay should i do that from here?
Oops ignore how dirty my deskmat looks it's from eraser marks
when i do that and it says "Open device" i can hear noise from the ipod
That looks pretty healthy, have you tried a different cable?
I'm assuming it's a 6th gen 80gb
Oh nice
An Apple original cable would be preferred, since 6th Gens are super picky with which cables you use
Warranty? From CEX?
Yep
(I've never heard of CEX since I'm not in the US)
Might be different depends on what cex but most in the uk have 5 year free
ah the UK
Yea it's just like a tech exchange
Like pc parts old consoles games all of that
I don't think they'll carry an original Apple 30 pin
I can check
