Hello! I'm new to iPod stuff and wanted to ask a few questions about...everything! So here goes!

1. What model of iPod would you recommend for everyday use?
2. What kind of headphones would you recommend for the best listening experience while still keeping the retro feel?
3. How much storage would you recommend for an avid music listener?
4. Is there a way to add music to my iPod without having to buy them on iTunes? (Minus a seedy website)
5. Will album art still show up if I don't use iTunes?
6. Are there any trusted websites that you could share for purchasing an iPod?
7. Is there anything else I should know about iPod's before I spend the money on one?

4. USe rockbox, then iinstall a theme that miimicks the stock OS you get used to it quick, then you can ignore itunes entrily and drag and drop Mp3s form downloaded youtube videos if you want, or with the same setup move up the latter to CD flac rips, albulm art can easily be enbded usinf MP3tag (free program)

for number 4, you don’t need to buy the songs on iTunes. You can just add the files to your iTunes library and then sync with the iPod. How you get those files is up to you. Personally I use a mix of buying on bandcamp, ripping from CDs, and pirating

i’ve heard about ripping from CDs and that’s what my uncle used to do for me way back when i used to have an mp3 player but i’m not sure how to do that myself

do you have a computer with a cd/dvd drive?

no but i know the library has one? am able to do it through one of their computers?

I mean these are 20 year old devices even if you take care of them there are no promises they are going to last forever

Even itunes (originally was just mac CD ripping software, only got Ipod Syncing and a digital store later on) can still be used for ripping CDs and can be done at Apple Lossless and Synced directly to your ipod no loss in quality at all, or compress it to save spce

Also you can get your own DVD drive that just works on USB for next to nothing

I took the opportunity to replace it with this MINT 60gb HP color, and I rockboxed it and tossed breaking bad on it lol
