I honestly have no idea I’m not a technician
Hello?
Anyone?
.
.
.
Which generation is this?
Any more info?
Ok, if it’s possible can I have a look at the actual buttons on the motherboard?
I’m pretty sure I know the problem I just want visual confirmation
It sucks to open
I can't open it up easily
Well to fix it you need to get inside anyway
I’m pretty sure the small piece of hard foam on the physical button has either disintegrated, lost it’s hardness, or fallen off.
I’m not saying that’s 100% the issue it just can cause the button to be all mushy and weird like that
Is the button sunken in slightly?
it's completely sunken in
I can't click it
ok wait
Yeah that’s what I thought
You gotta pop it open and replace the foam piece on the button
If you can get the front plate off yes
But won’t budge
Is that easy?
What have you tried to open it with
Somewhat
The plastic pryer thing
One sec
Something like this
Gets between the seam
If you’re absolutely desperate to repair it you can (VERY CAREFULLY) use the tip of a thin screwdriver or knife
Does it ship to Australia?
Ifixit should have the same tool, most tech repair shops do
Does ebay stuff work?
As long as it’s metal and thin, yeah.
If you have a steady hand you can try to get in there with a utility knife
Wouldn’t recommend it, but it would do the job
Nah
How much is the foam
I mean if you have anything made of a more solid foam just cut a piece out of it
I don’t think replacements are sold necessarily
Like?
