hello ipod users i have having a problem with a 5th gen ipod classic, the problem is that the center button has recessed into the ipod as far as it can go (about the level of a fully pushed button on it), i want to know if anybody knows how to fix it and if i need new parts or anything like that. anything you can tell me helps thanks if you need a pic of it then i will give one

This is a common issue on 5th gens and is easily fixable. When you take apart the iPod, on the centre button on the board there is a small piece of material, kind of a foam I guess. This foam sometimes becomes misaligned, resulting in what you're describing. So you just have to take apart the iPod and re-align the foam to the centre of the button.

ok thanks for the help but one last thing, is there a way to force an ipod to turn off other then letting it sit for a few hours?
hold the play/pause button. It won't fully shut it down, just put it to sleep
