when i hook it to my pc it boots, shows the sad drive face, then shows the charging screen with only 1 battery bar, then reboots
have u tried plugging it into usb plug power instead of pc
also when i tried flash modding, i got the sad drive face but turns out i accidently put the drive in upside down so that could be the case for u
i plugged it into wall power all last night and it made no difference, and i tried putting the cf adapter in both ways and putting the original drive back in and nothing seems to make it even show up on itunes lol
the original drive is bad btw
maybe its the uh
ribbon connector
but idk im new to this
i just got here yesterday
yeah idk, i also worry i could've knocked something off the board reinserting it into the shell and maybe thats the problem
yeah that shell is too crammy, it gives me nightmares
i hear it like scraping when i put mine in and its like bleh
cause there was a tiny piece of metal i found on my desk so i probably just ruined my board or smth
bruh also have u tried updateing itunz cuz maybe that could bean issue
but u probably have
yeah idk, i'm going to wait for an ipod support person to show up and maybe give me their opinion
oops wrong reply sorry
yeah best bet to do that lol
thank you for trying to help tho
Did you make sure the drive is in the correct way?
Also what cf adapter did you use?
yeah i tried it in both ways, and the card i used was an iflash cf adapter
What sd card?
sandisk
its a sandisk microsd in a sandisk sd card adapter in an iflash cf adapter
If you have a different sc card try it
Sd
Sandisk can be hit and miss sometimes
Might be worth trying this as well
Learn how to prepare your ExFAT Formatted SDXC card to use in the iPod. Some factory fresh 64Gb and 128Gb SDXC cards have Master Boot Records / Parition tables which can cause problems for the iPod....
If none of that works it’s probably a faulty drive cable or motherboard
i don't have a different card, but maybe i'll buy one next time i go to the store. in the mean time i'll read that thing you sent. thanks!
also, can these support posts stay open for a while? cause i' might have to shop around a little to find a non sandisk sd card (or i guess i could buy 1 online)
sure, good luck
I usually close these threads as you can make a new one and you can still see the old one, is that not the case
