#Fire Magic / Ice Magic Temperature Impacts

Fire Magic should be immune to the hot temp in Ilmari, and get either a passive at a certain level that negates the temp reduction in Kur, or one of the spells like Molten Veins should reset the temp reduction bar.

Similarly, Ice Magic should be immune to the cold in Kur, and should either get a passive like above or an active spell that resets the temp in Ilmari.

The "Cold Protection" spells should be castable on others, as they seem silly for classes that can control fire and ice.

It feels like you are asking for things already in the game. Fire has ways to deal with cold, and so does ice. Not negate everything, just lessen the impact.
Ilmari isn't about temp, it's about thirst. Just pack a stack of water with you.

So i haven't trained either yet. The original thought I had was one I'd posted yesterday related to the "Fire Core" item and it got me thinking about Fire / Ice magic lines. When i looked quickly yesterday I only saw the "Cold Protection" spells in fire protection and thought that was kind of lacking.

After your reply, I'm looking at the other spells closer and see the "restores X body heat in cold environments." I'm with you, that's basically what I was recommending...just didn't realize it was there.

I'll leave the post here in case anyone else is as dumb as me, or if the mods want, they can delete.

The wiki says both classes have some abilities that increase cold resist (which lowers the rate your body temp drops) and that restore body heat. the wiki isn't always accurate though.

Neither appears to have anything that increases fire resist (which lowers the rate of dehydration) or increases hydration, though its feasible they can do so through treasure effects, which I didn't look up.

Worth noting that the FM specific resists mod deactivates when mounted so unless you are legging it you don't get the benefit. As for the chilling effect of Kur/Gaz it would be nice if just having FM active would be negate some of it but you'd run into the same problem of it deactivating when mounted. An interesting idea but from the skill that can't even get a good vuln for its own damage I wouldn't expect much from Fire Magic.

Alternatively, what would be nice interesting to see of having certain items in the inventory or curses would affect the zone environments. Such as Tidals curse, personal rainstorm, negating ilmari dehydration or certain hot items (like the cores/stones) would slow the heat loss in the snowy biomes.

Pretty sure ice gets it too.
