#Severe Performance Degradation after Unity Version Update

Hi, Just putting in a report on the off chance it helps the devs with troubleshooting.

After joining up following the 1.0 update my performance was very good. I dealt with the Serbule performance dips everyone felt those opening couple weeks, but soon as I was out of the area my fps reliably sat 120-144 (capped) at mostly default level 4 graphics settings.

I took a break the past couple days because after the original update I was getting severe stuttering. After coming back, the stuttering seems to be fixed but my performance is significantly worse.

An example for a place that shouldn't be too taxing is War Caches.
At my normal level 4 my fps now sits 40-44.
At absolute lowest settings possible (-2) I'm sitting at ~50fps
And just for fun at absolute highest settings which I don't play on (6) my fps sits at around 40-45
So there's definitely something funky going on here.

Ultimately I don't think 40 fps is completely unplayable for me, but it is jarring and a bit disappointing after previous performance.

Open to giving more info if it helps anyone!

Honestly, there are so many graphical glitches, fps problems in different areas / in general and other problems, too many to list here. At this point I just assume they are aware of it and will fix them in the upcoming days.

That's my assumption as well @bitter mason, but I figured I'd also express that game performance / stability is important to me and many others, and volunteer system info. Especially now that simply upgrading to AM5 / ddr5 isn't necessarily accessible for many folks due to the ongoing parts shortage.

Yup, engine upgarde turned out to be an overall downgrade for me - performance and visual wise 🙁
GPU at 100% load all the time, FPS drops, stuttering

#

Before last patches game was running smooth.

I keep my view distance to minimum, disable shadows, set fps cap to 50 and use lossless scaling to double it. Still not enough to run great but its playable..

Visually, it's better. If the bugs get fixed, it'll be an upgrade. But until then, it's very rough, with the native Linux version being hit especially hard.

I hope they just roll back this update, I can't get the game to function anymore

The clipping is really bad . Making the game unplayable. I have tried to adjust every setting and still clips.

logged in seems fine

Glad the game works fine for you @sonic wasp, the definition of a bug means it may not affect all hardware setups.

# bold wedge +1 to rollback tbh, hate to be negative, but this update shouldn't have been pus...

To be honest I am extremely disappointed how they are handling this. Two failed updates with role backs and then a deployment which should have never been released in this state. I get it, it's a small team but that doesn't mean you get an excuse to push an unfinished product to your paying customers. Small bugs happen, as a dev myself I know that but if I would deliver something as broken as this to my customers I wouldn't get payed and rightfully never get a contract from them again.
Please role back this release, setup a PTR and do some proper testing with actual players.

I've asked devs there to at least recognize issues. #tech-support message
