Maybe just one as a treat for new players. Some place to put equipment and lock it. Seriously, i'd pay real money for some folders.

You can get these by levelling certain skills :)

#

I can't recall what those skills are right now though haha

theyre under "/wiki inventory folders". i recommend doing the shamanic infusion, it lvls FAST

I know about the levelling options, but this is a QoL feature that i really think people could use earlier on

250+ hours of play so far, and I've only unlocked one folder. Given the high QoL aspect of them, I think at least a few should be a little more accessible. Personally.

Do the work, reap the reward

This is one of those things that seems to be a point of pride for existing vets. They've already grinded out things and thus don't feel inclined to make it any easier for the people that come after them.

#

Reminder, Pride comes before the fall.

I wouldn’t say it is pride, but whole point of PG is the grind. If you remove it, what is left?
You get that generic modern mmo that just hands you everything

Its a marathon, not a sprint.

The inventory is not fun to deal with

#

This is a game. It's supposed to be fun

peak flare
#

It is inventory manager simulator in the end 🙂

Something about this system needs to shift a little bit. We're not asking for the moon here. Just one of these folders. That's it.

They could maybe do something like what was done for the mounts. You still gotta do some work, but you can get it a lot earlier than now

#

And maybe a bit more obvious that it exists

azure sluice
#

Yeah a nominal quest would be perfectly fine, I'll take that suggestion

#

It doesn't have to just be "free" either.

#

Also yes, actually, now that you mention it, there's no acknowledgement by the game itself that this folder system even exists so this would solve that too

Yeah personally I also think unlocking 1 at the start just to put your gear in would be good. Was super annoying not having it for so long. That and as someone who already has 4 I still feel it's not enough

You can get one very early on. Lore 13. Clicking on a few things in Serbule gets you to like level 5 or 6. Answer a few altar riddles, do a hangout or two, and you're there.

even some little things like "locking equipped gear" and sorting options could make a lot of difference

#

theres no defending "oops newbie sold his equipment again" as a intended fun feature

Dunno what that has to do with my comment really. The "non combat systems" in this context are passive things you aren't urged to do by any means. The only compulsion that exists is this folder system and you could probably go a while without ever realizing it exists unless you're keen to learn everything you can about a game before you play it. Which, if I remember correctly, is exactly the opposite of what this community encourages.

I unlocked 2 folders completely by accident in my first 2 weeks of playing. it's already something new players get

azure sluice
#

You are one person.

heavy spear
#

I am aware of that, yes

azure sluice
#

these counter points are so inherently weak.

heavy spear
#

I don't explicitly see that as a counterpoint. I am a brand new player with 2 folders, OP is suggesting folders are unlocked for new players. Which they already are?

the fact is the game wants you to do every single thing in the game the only thing that doest directly award folders is combat isnt it only 20 or 30 indi for a folder? which is a pretty much a must have skill

azure sluice
#

I've changed my mind on this matter.

#

The answer is saddlebags

#

Maybe there should be a way for people to quest into a shoddy one or something. Not strictly necessary but the path toward one is a bit...obscure outside of player shops and even then it's hard to find one within a reasonable price/level range

#

Still, it IS possible and boy is it a godsend

P:G folks have proven they will change things when needed, regardless of the 'vets'. Reading back I see there was some sort of 'issue' with changes that came up a couple of years ago that drove away some people who stormed off angry something was made more accessible. I don't know what it was, only the complaints. But in the end the change was proven to be a good change, look at the game now.
