#Discord FAQ channel suggestion

With all the prospective players coming in and asking about wipes/when orcs are releasing/etc. it might help to add a specific standalone "FAQ" channel under the Server Info & Activities header so that the answers to the most common questions can be funneled there and updated as needed. It could even be set up so that new discord members are pointed to/land on that channel specifically upon joining via an automated method. This will also allow for the answers to those questions to not get lost amidst the split of sources or buried under other announcements.
You could also compile a short list of links relevant to the provided information as well.

Ex.
"Will there be a wipe on release? -> No wipe. More info here: #dev-news message "
"Will there be no more packages in the Gorgon shop? -> new packages are being discussed but not decided on yet. For current stock, check out the Gorgon Shop here: https://shop.projectgorgon.com/ "

With so many new players joining the discord in these weeks leading up to launch day and likely many more come actual launch, this might alleviate any fatigue on the moderation team at the very least!

When it comes to channels, i think less is more. As it is, it isn't immediately clear to someone brand new what each channel is for, but moderation is very strict about what you say in each channel.

For example, the difference between #tech-support and #community-help isn't immediately obvious to a lot of people

If we make a FAQ, we would want to be sure it doesn't get lost in the mass of channels and messages

We've had these discussions about support and community help, and Lemons prefers they stay as they are. Keeping support for account based questions hasn't really been consistent. Players use it as a second global, in my opinion, sometimes.

Yes! I actually copied some of Niqesse's text in my examples! That's partially why I suggested a new channel altogether- I saw those nicely written FAQ answers and then saw them get pushed up by other announcements in that same channel.

If there's a thread already for technical help, the launch/wipe/future plans FAQs could just be added to that instead and new players could then be pointed to that thread if a standalone channel isn't in the cards then, right?

I've just seen multiple current players previously become exasperated at the same questions getting asked over and over again both in here and the game and with no true way to differentiate between earnest people and trolls, some of the genuine potential players have been getting lashed out at and that's absolutely not fair to them.
Hopefully this works! 🙏

Please ask players who have been trolled to report at the ! button. It may seem like it's small, but usually those players have a trackable pattern. If there are concerns, often a volunteer guide can help sort that out.
