#Infusions/Improvements should not only add to damage

The current iteration of infusions on the live server is +direct damage. With the changes to that system, I was hoping for some possibilities that would actually assist support players or tank players rather than only assisting with DPS. Having now seen the system on the beta server, I must say I'm disappointed - not because I dislike the beta's iteration more than the live server's, but because it is yet again focused entirely on improving damage, with nothing for other party roles.

I would suggest adding additional types of infusion recipes that instead add defensive or support options.

Examples could include:
+x health/armor/power restored by signature support skills
Characters affected by your minor heal gain a shield that blocks 20% of all damage, until X damage is prevented
+x direct damage mitigation after using a Core attack

I'll second this. Currently there's nothing to chase for healers/support in the system really. For tanks it isn't so bad because you could argue damage = taunt, but it still isn't as cool as being able to add some mitigation for some of us more squishy "tanks".

Yeah, damage = taunt for tanks, but it means soooooooo much less than it does for dps. Especially some of the jewelry enchantments that add to epic damage, which are completely worthless for ice/shield and almost completely worthless for staff/shield. Dunno 'bout cow/ua but I'm guessing similar.

i said could argue, i dunno that i would.

Yeah, fair. I just wanted to strengthen my argument a bit, 'cause I would like tanking infusions too please πŸ˜›

#

But yeah, most significant for the support builds of the world.

evasions could also be a potential option

I think having evasions as infusions would be incredibly strong. Like, too much.

#

But yeah, those are options πŸ™‚

pale edge

they could have much lower chance to roll from the pool of options

#

to limit strength

We'd have to be doing something like .1% per, too.

pale edge
#

I think it could still be 1% just much more rare to roll

queen finch

I think it works more like a cycle, rather than random chance

#

But if it's random chance, yeah, absolutely.

either way just brainstorming ways that foretold and mastercrafted can be helpful for all builds in one way or another

Yes

#

Thank you πŸ™‚

I do think it should be a separate recipe though sort of like mineral and organic recipes to avoid those that want the dps options getting a healing boost and watering down what the build desires. So a DPS or support infusion options.

Yes, absolutely

#

Even having a "tank", "support", and "damage" recipe would be nice πŸ™‚

Agree with the OP and several opinions in here, and also can you choose what type of stat you are implementing? or is it RNG.

Im feeling that if players are making such a heavy time investment into improving gear they should at least be able to "select" what they want, i don't think the RNG component can be justified at all tbh it feels unnecessary bloating the mechanic.

Also agree on what about non direct damage builds? Like pet builds, indirect and the above mentioned healers/supports too.

And i already mentioned this in Walrus post but i want to mention it again here.

Adding a combat wisdom cost encourages current players to improve their foretold-mastercrafted items before the upcoming update. According to the Statehelm patch notes and in-game announcements, all pre-existing and upgraded foretold-mastercrafted equipment will be automatically migrated to the new system. This means players who have already completed these upgrades will likely bypass the Combat Wisdom costs required after the patch.

To be honest, it feels like an unreasonable grind. Furthermore, the current system makes lower-level gear essentially worthless to upgrade; the massive costs turn "foretold-mastercrafted" into a meaningless label for low-level items rather than a benefit worth the investment
it will also open a playfield for some heavy speculation on main server until statehelm or the foretold system drops

i guess i should say in defense of the system, there could be some other way to use combat wisdom for the other roles and its just hidden somewhere in statehelm and we dont know about it. i havent dove too deep in the beta

^ hopeful speculation

I posted it there but will also plead here, please do something for healers with these infusions. Tanks getting mitigation and stuff would be great too but at least damage helps them. There is no comparable satisfying late game grind for healers though and this would fix that
