Oh ok I see what you mean by that. Yes, if you exit after getting the first resource, the next resource won't cost any candle because you have spent one candle for entering the tavern. It's always one candle for each type of resource no matter how you do it, but you can split that to different tavern entries. And it's optimal to only get one resource at one tavern entry because you can save those choices and pick them when you don't like any of the tavern options. (Also there are tongbaos that let you gain resource by simply walking, so you do want to walk more )
