and to be clear, 4* AOE casters like Gitano aren't worth building despite higher rarity. Lava is cheap so she's a decent solution to dealing with large numbers of enemies early on, and is good enough to handle them. Gitano still faces the same issues as other AOE casters, namely poor range and low DPS.

I'd prefer Pinecone if you have her, but if you don't, Lava gets the job done on early game stages where a lot of enemies rush you.

but the general gist is

you want nukers that can nuke fast to kill enemies

tanky ops to intercept or block the enemies

FRDs for faster ball kicking

and don't forget multihit ones for more kicking

Weedy S3 is always nice for a straight shot

I've seen someone style on me with Fartooth straight shots
