most event are fairly tightly packed that you are better stocking up resource from event, try to progress for first clear reward on story stage first
as well as farming SK for base and T1 chips for baseworkers is better

newbie likely lack T1 mats the most, which 1-7 is expected
but other T3 mats are better off getting from other source, since the sanity cost for each range from 40-60 per drop, so newbie taking a whole day of sanity for just 4-6 drops is bad
