The "Meta" mindset is killing the enemies before they kill you
Gracebearer is good because she is actively helping you kill the target faster, Dead Threat = No need for high survivability
Unlike Defenders, or "First line of defense" where they don't actively help reduce the enemies HP to kill them faster, they are mostly reserve for situations where you can't just outright kill the enemy

If Grace is dying too fast, then you should better work on your Medics and DPS, so that Grace lives enough to kill the enemies and more DPS to kill them faster

yeah I struggle a lot with medium def enemies. most of my dps come from inconsistent sources like tequila. which means surviving long enough for tequila to charge up was an important trait for my guards. maybe once I build skybox that will change, one of them will be charged at any given time right?

Do you not have Specter? You can cycle between Tequila skill and Specter skill to comfortably kill most stuff
