Beginner banner is 4+ year old units. Saria (Solid defender) Silverash (Physical burst Skill3 + utility) are best, Thorns S3 can assist with AFKing annihilations. Mountain S2 can assist early game and be used generally when game put early pressure on stages.
Blaze guard S2 is AFK and i personally value Thorns AFKing higher (better range/attack speed). Exu (not Alter) - Uh... Just grab free Kroos Alter from Invitation from Wine when you get to point of unlocking events.
Btw i dont recall which 5* are on beginner banner, but i personally value at least Warf (S2 is +60-90 ATK% buff; most modern units don't need outside source of +ATK%) and Shamare (Base skill + S2 deployable debuff to enemy DEF/ATK), or if you get one of "recommended voucher picks" so you could pick someone else on vouchers (Dupes in this game not as impactful)
