Ascended Crystals
Converting 10 crystals to 1 by going to a designated spiritual NPC to preform the task. Each ascended Crystal boosts an individual stat by 1 point depending on the trait of that Crystal to a limit. (May solve stackable crystals that have been requested)
Ex: 1 ascended Defense Crystal will increase your defense stat by 1 pt until death.

Sepukku
Can be committed by traveling through a dangerous dungeon/event? Once the overlord(Akuma derived as Satan for Japanese folklore) dies, you can begin the spiritual transition to an “afterlife realm”. Giving you the ability to increase the level cap of blessings to a limit from 20 -> 25 there per class.
Ex: after reaching the “afterlife realm” you can spend 250 honor or specified medallion cost to permanently increase the max crystals of the dragon blessing from 20 -> 21. Each upgrade becomes more expensive (other things also available in the afterlife realm just haven’t thought so far into it). You will also be able to come back to the spirit realm with your equipment & remove blessings you don’t want anymore(if the devs feel that this option is viable).

Subscription Plan
A monthly plan involving exclusive quests, 1 pet, subscriber badge, etc.

Fishing
I mean this is perfect. Imagine all the sushi I’d be able to craft it would feel surreal.

Horses
Iffy about this implementation. Allows you to ride a horse around the map. You can not use abilities, attacks, be in combat, or in dungeons & encounters on the horse. It has its own health which means mobs can still dismount you. If dismounted your horse dies, you can remount in a certain time frame. Horses may also jump over borders but also have a time constant to do so. The more I write about this addition the more I realized I just robbed the idea from Albion, could work though potentially!

I quite like the fact you can't teleport, makes you actually explore and get a feel for the map and feels way more immersive
Teleporting is also a quite flat mechanic, there's not really a lot you can do with it once it's added, while mounts are way more open ended and could have very cool and unique uses in the future

you can check #outreach, there were a lot of reasons why subscriptions never happened, i personally radically prefer mtx

i think making the map way larger and adding settlements will have a happy balance of you walking to your boss, it was that way in alpha and there were no issues

How do u feel about the permanent increase in blessings with honor to a limit? I for one wasn’t sure about the implementation, but I’ve noticed a lot of people want some sort of permanent buff. I thought it could be a reasonable idea

idk i dont like that purely because i think you should be able to build blessings in a number of different ways

also, the honor crystal idea will require people to be sacrificing characters to progress further in the game which is crazy good, we need more systems like that

also seppuku has very specific connotations, like it was self-punishment basically, so we cant call anything that ever 😭

its not a japanese blanket term for suicide/sacrifice, but a lot of people think it is 😹

I don't really like personal islands/homes in mmos. I don't know why the idea of adding seppuku is brought up so often aside from the fact that this game is not really japan themed, seppuku is a ritualistic suicide and honestly adding it into the game feels rather weird. I mean it doesn't feel really justified by the theme, like you could just spend your honor on permanent upgrades after dying normally or something just like in most roguelikes, having to go through the whole dungeon just to carry out a ritualistic suicide at the end feels weird especially considering the purpose of seppuku. If it has to be seppuku I guess it would make the most sense if dying normally didn't give you honor at all but then the honor system would need to be at least rebalanced.

Well maybe the lore is that we are ronin who have failed our master by not keeping them alive with the invasion of these monsters. The act of seppuku would allow us to die in the hands of ourselves instead of the enemy from shame of failing our masters? Idk it does sound quite brutal but just an idea

the only way ive gotten honor so far is by suiciding my characters once they have enough

  • I assume there will be a guild area similar to rotmg and whatnot. That can be customizable.
  • The crystals idea is ok, some sort of crystal sink for very minimal upgrades but still noticeable for grinders could be nice
  • Might want to call that ascension or something instead of that. But the idea is interesting. Going through a very difficult trial (alone) and being able to get a nice bonus at the end could be cool. But what I had in mind was something more akin of a one time per character bonus and a visual effect that shows that you completed the trial. ( The idea is that you'll have to gauge if you are strong enough stats-wise and skill-wise to complete it )
  • Extricly cosmetic, sure
  • Fishing could be nice. Source of specialized food, maybe a leaderboard for biggest fish caught.
  • There is the idea of being able to teleport to party members and more coachmen being added, not sure this is needed. If you want a companion, purely cosmetic pets sounds a bit more feasable

id like crystal combining to just be a tenet of the system

like you know, 2-5 crystals for a stat crystal of varying power and like 6+ you can get even stronger ones that unlock additional buffs

ill just add it to my old crystal idea
