Is it causing some issues beyond this visual bug/thing?

No at least not once its downloaded, once its downloaded it goes back to being 120GBs. That is when it would ask for 260GBs, now (the last couple days) its been saying I need 760Gbs to download and my PC doesnt even have that much storage

Perhaps try clearing download cache in steam's settings>downloads.

#

Also have you ever moved your game from drive to drive, or maybe you have it on external drive.

Yes actually, a friend walked me through a bunch of solutions yesterday that unfortunately didn’t work. Wiping the cache, clearing out my all workshop items, I’ve tried validating the games files, removing things that could be unnecessarily taking up space but so far none have worked.

It almost appears like my system is over allocating space for the game

#

(Aside from the basics: checking drivers, restarting my PC) I’ve also tried running it through the rockstar launcher itself but from where I only own it on steam it just redirects me to the same download screen that’s telling me I need 716GBs to allocate for the game

#

And like I said, this game (and only this game) has done it before asking for about 200GBs and when it installs it acts normal, gives back any storage that it over claimed

#

I have used RedM (it’s been a couple years since I played and actually uninstalled the program) before and I know that has a lot of custom content that may be the issue I just don’t know how to remedy that if previous RedM experiences have caused this storage issue

One thing you could try is check your RDO's appmanifest file.

#

Go to it's installation folder, go up couple level to "steamapps", open up appmanifest_1404210.acf with notepad and check size values.

#

Sizes there are displayed in bytes, so RDO should be roughly 128.xxx.xxx.xxx

I’ll try that as soon as I get off work!
