#RDR2 is completely unplayable on my system

I run a higher-end system (Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 3070ti) and I've never had any issue running demanding games. I just downloaded RDR2 and finished the 1st part of the beginning of the game without any issues.

When I tried progressing, however, I ran into an issue that prevented me from making any meaningful progress. About 5 minutes into a mission, the game would essentially stop in its tracks without crashing. Dialogue would stop, NPCs would stop, and I would be unable to do anything (open weapon wheel, crouch/uncrouch, go in cover, etc). Whenever I would open the menu the game would pause, but no menu options would show up on the left side. My only option would be to force quit with task manager. I've tried numerous fixes but nothing has worked. Please help

I had the exact same problem on my high end pc but with an intel cpu. I went into the bios and disabled hyperthreading on my cpu and it fixed it for me. I don’t know how I came to the solution, cause google was no help as no one had a solution only ideas as to what was happening.
