Check if you added -safemode as a launch option/command line argument in Steam/Epic/RockstarGamesLauncher.
Any idea on how I could get there? I know jack shit on computers lol
Where do you own the game? Which client?
On steam
Steam -> Library -> Right Click on Red Dead -> Properties -> Launch Options.
Np.
It's not there
It's blank? Then do you run the game from some shortcut from desktop?
Shortcut yes
Right click on that shortcut -> Properties -> Target. See if there is -safemode at the end.
If it's a Steam shortcut then it might be different.
What do you see?
URL, Shortcut Key and something?
When I click properties, I see general, web document, security, details, and previous versions.
Oh okay, then it's a Steam shortcut. Try another thing. Go to /Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings/system.xml. Delete this xml.
It's np.
so delete the thing that says system.xml?
Yes.
And if you see any files named sga_, delete those as well.
Then start the game from Steam, not the shortcut.
Btw, you don't have OneDrive synchronizing files from Documents, right?
so things like sga_vulcan... etc?
Yes.
Not sure
Is there like a green tick on the folders?
That signifies that it's synced.
There is on the shortcuts, yeah.
On the desktop
Oh.
So nothing in Documents have that green tick, right?
Then you should be good.
You can launch the game then if you have deleted the files.
Square Enix does but thats for JC2
Thats the only thing
Oh okay, you just need to ensure that the Rockstar Games folder doesn't get synchronized.
Yes.
Alrighty
Try the game.
Sure.
It worked.
Thank you so much man, this has been bothering me for days.
Means a lot :))
You're welcome!
damn now I'm getting FFFFFF errors when Im in the game for a few minutes
probably the snow though.

Quickest solution is playing in a solo lobby using some or the other method.
How would I open a solo lobby? Does RDO just use traditional matchmaking?
You can look up on Google, there's a video on it in 60 seconds. You can use that method but you won't be able to play with randoms. If you want other folks to join your solo session, they need to perform the same activities you did to get into solo.
