So horses have white, grey, and black bars showing their speed/accel. It seems obvious that the white are its actual stats but what exactly do the grey and black bars really mean?

With saddles/stirrups, I noticed that what once was both the grey and black bars can turn yellow after equipping these saddles/stirrups but then this confuses me about what the difference between grey and black bars even is. For example, are the grey bars what the horse stats can become with the right saddles/stirrups? If so, then why do certain saddles/stirrups show yellow bars that go even further than the grey bars and actually start to go into the black bars?

One person I talked to suggested that the horses actual stats can never go past the grey bars no matter if the yellow bars shows otherwise.

Does anyone have any more precise and confirmed info about this stuff?

I'll add that the only testing i've done so far is using my turkoman, that has a 6 base speed, 2 grey bars after that, that had on it a glitched saddle/stirrup set which gave 4 speed/4 accel and I raced a foxtrotter that has a 7 base speed and a saddle/stirrup set with 0 bonuses to speed/accel and i found that we were basically riding exactly the same speed. wtf?

Grey bars are what you can level up via bonding as far as I remember.

Whilst gear can add bonus slightly exceeding max natural potential.
