Go check your account on Social club and then play story mode for 24 hours. After that come back

Never mind what you hear from anyone, especially Youtube Guides. Do what you enjoy, what you love to do. Don't play the game to get X or to get Y. IF you're not enjoying the game, then there's no point.
Having said that, if shootout is what you want, go do bounties with someone who has the role if you don't. Otherwise go find Gang hideouts or ambush spawns
Forgot to mention. The Telegram missions are one hell of a slugfest ESPECIALLY on higher difficulty. You WILL run out of bullets. Mark my words

Dont worry, rockstar doesnt do anything about it, they abandonned the game. There are modders around for ages without them getting banned. i had the same thing but with like 50 gold and 2k cash and nothing happend, i am 2 weeks further now

Well they abandonned it but its still at own risk. after 2 weeks i am still able to play and if they ban my account i just buy a new rdr2 online key for 10 bucks. You are still able to play story missions. The fact they never respond to emails says enough but still at own risk.

To be fair my personal experience with the support desk ticket has been ok-ish.
For easy issues like missing monthly bonuses they promptly credited in 24 hours.
For more complicated issues they took pretty near a week while my ticket bounced around between L1 to L2 to L3.
Not saying they are a saint, but they do respond in a timely fashion.
