My friend just bought rdr2 and It's been over 2 years since I played it and I don't remember, is he able to just launch online right away or does he have to do the story tutorial (snowy area) first? I do know he will have an online tutorial already tho.

It's worth his time to do the story mode because of the game mechanics like shooting, aiming etc. But it's not required
