I have a cat 5e ethernet cable and was going to upgrade to cat 8 cable but i dont know which one i should buy. Im also new to wired internet specs & stuff so i have no idea if i can use cat 8 or if i need to stick to cat 5e.

why would bother switching to cat 8? are you bandwidth limited by the cable?
if not then its just a waste of effort to find out if it would work and a waste of money to purchase
cat 8 cables are backwards compatible but I'd be surprised if you need a cable capable of 40Gbps

check the rating on the current cable, i think they normally say capability on the shielding
i'm using cat 5e cables that allow well over 500Mbps, I've seen 800 before when my accom internet removed the cap

The first text i see on the cable is 350+ im assuming thats it
