Oculus Quest 1 good still?

Hi I have not got a fr headset yet and I was wondering would an oculus quest 2 run alright to play gorrilla tag and Roblox ore something

Honestly the question 3 is almost out so I would save your money for that

I recommend a quest 2 over the quest 1. Higher resolution and you get 120hz instead of 72 on the quest 1

Quest 3 still around the corner , plenty of time to save for exponetially better hardware over 3 year old hardware, much less than 5 year old hardware it might still be fine but it will be phased out faster

quest 1 is not supported anymore, so even if you were to buy a quest 1 you would need to hook it up to a pc which you probably dont have bc you want to play gtag and roblox vr

Well lets see if he has a pc. But if he only has a max of $300. Quest 2 is highly recommended sense the quest 1 only has a 72hz display which may cause a few people motion sickness

Most vr games I like 80-90fps minimum.

I’m not telling him to get a quest 1 i was just saying if he was to get one then he wouldn’t be able to play it standalone

There's still games for standalone. Just not as many as the quest 2

I just don't know if the quest 1 has the games he wants

quest 2 runs alot of games at 72hz and ASW

Which is why i keep emphasising waiting 2 months and save for a quest 3

and quest 2 can go up to 120hz if you enable 120hz mode

All I can say is it depends on peoples budgets. this guy was looking at even a quest 1 because he may be tight budget

Thats 2 months to save 200 dollars if they were already willing to spend 300 for a quest 2

quest 2 can go up to 120hz but not on many games

I think the quest 3 also has better tracking, nice gorrila tag since thats what they want to play

Btw he could be looking at the old logo sense thats $50 off at $250 for quest 2 making the quest 3 like double the price. You think it's easy for everyone to save $200-250 in 2 months but you don't know everyone living situation!

The quest 2 is 3 years old

It should not be considered as a viable headset to purchase rn with new hardware coming out

250 dollars for refurbished is also not that good since the battery will most certainly be degraded more than a new headset

200 dollars for 2 months is seriously not that hard no matter what situation you live in

Plus im pretty sure they do those monthly payment thingys if you couldnt afford 500 then

and your basically saying "if you don't have enough then make more money" not like some people may already have jobs. Plus the quest 3 may not have that monthly payment sense the quest 2 doesn't.

Oh someone else told me to tell you that people consider the valve index as one of the best vr headsets and it's older than the quest 2.

No no no not even valve index is better, like the features are better yes, but the QA of it so bad, no matter how careful you are with it, it WILL break and you only get 1 year warranty

plus i think deckard is coming out some time soon

lets just tell them to wait for the launch of the quest 3. if they don't have the money for quest 3 by then. quest 2 is still really good for its price
