Alright, so steamVR is waaaayyy slower than when using just oculus link, btw im using quest 2 with a proper link cable, not some 2.0 cable. Steamvr has like 10-20 fps and straight oculus link has 40-50 fps. Specs are 1650, 8gb of ram, ryzen 7 3750h with vega graphics, w11.

acually, these gpu's are equel in performance. But Nvidia has only 8gb vram but has good ray tracing for games that support rtx. AMD on the other hand can do ray tracing but not that great but has double vram 16gb which will help with newer games not cause studders or frame drops

well if you ever want to get to the 1800. you can swap out the 6800 with a 6950xt which is AMD last gen flagship

but it's only 32% faster than a 6800
