I have a problem with my link cable in steamvr where the audio stutters and lags but the game is fine I thought it was just one game but I tried other games and that happened as well, I then tried to test the link cable out when it said that it was a usb 2 instead of a usb 3.

You probably have it plugged into a USB 2.0 port
