What is a good gaming headset to buy?

I've been saving for a while and got $800 (NZD) and I was wondering what vr headset to buy. I was originally going to go with the quest 2, but I am having doubts. So, gonna need some help. I am only gonna really use it for gaming, but I would like to use it for recording in the near future. I would like to be able to connect the vr headset to my PC so that I can play the games through steam on my vr headset. These are my PC specs if it helps:
Processor: Intel Xeon Processor E5-1650
Graphics Card: Radeon RX 580 Series
RAM: 16GB DDR3

if you were just going for stand alone i would suggest quest 2 but for steam vr you would have to upgrade your computer a bit

or any pcvr for that matter

Any idea on how much it would cost to upgrade my pc to base requirements for a pcvr?

Preferably in NZD.

I'd say go quest 2, if you wanna do pcvr you definitely need to upgrade your pc tho. Rn CPU would be your biggest issue from my experience (I just upgraded from a very similar CPU). The E5 V1 and V2 CPUs really struggle in games like boneworks and bonelab or any other intensive game now, the second you start recording too that will just turn into a nightmare experience

Just have a few more questions if that is alright. If I did have the requirements, what PCVR headset would you recommend? Would I be able to transfer/play the games I bought on my quest 2, on the recommended PCVR headset; Or does oculus/meta store games only transfer to other oculus/meta headsets? What is the base requirements for the recommended PCVR headset?

Oculus store games are only available for oculus headsets, you can use the quest 2 with pcvr using airlink, virtual desktop or a link cable. I would generally recommend the quest 2 as it's the best price to performance headset. For modern vr games I'd recommend getting either a 5000 series ryzen 5 processor such as the 5600 or a 10th gen or newer core i5 such as a 10400f or better something like a 12400f. You could go lower end but any game that has a focus on physics such as boneworks or blade and sorcery will need something pretty powerful. You could upgrade your graphics card but I'm guessing you don't want to spend a huge amount of money at the moment and an Rx 580 is just about enough to play with lower settings + resolution

I dont think the quest 2 supports base stations
