I get this when my headset tries to connect to ALVR. I'm using the nightly build. I've attached SteamVR logs but I can't find anything.

also i am not a linux nerd
i am a linux user
idk what would cause that. i don't have any firewalls set up or anything
did you try asking in their discord ?
does alvr require port forwarding? because i have a port forward rule in my router's settings that opens port 9944
i could use windows but i get really shit performance on it
what specs ?
i can run VR games just fine in windows on my laptop
AMD Radeon R9 380
AMD FX-4100 Quad Core clocked at 4GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
my cpu is the biggest bottleneck so i think the more cpu efficient kernel helps
DDR3 ?
ye
i dont think you will be able to run VR on that...
i already can
GG @gleaming marten, you just advanced to level 16!
that GPU is pretty much half as performant as mine
and i still get performance issues somtimes
I can play Boneworks, VAIL, Beat Saber and Half Life 2 VR.
how the fuck
that CPU is literally 10x less powerful then mine
how does that run anything
i had issues playing minecraft on my old pc which had double the benchmark score
my cpu is overclocked tho
ah right
i probably couldn't run them at base clock
well i still dont understand how can you run any VR game decently on that GPU doe
the r9 380 can play most vr games that aren't incredibly intensive
especially with amd fsr
i set the port forward rule to tcp/udp and nothing changed so idk what to do
do i need to use a specific branch of steamvr?

ALVR is a free wireless solution correct?

okay i reinstalled arch and the headset connects now but what the fuck is this
ALVR.
