LG is a very different meta from HSE

striker ex is only good for stats vs most bosses

plus a lot of solos there involve more of a slow grind than maximizing dmg

so investment priorities are different too

i honestly prefer it to hse

countering gimmicks and being able to hit certain dmg ranges to skip 50% is important to some solos so youve got people exing "suboptimal" units

Tbh a lot relies on RNG and Patience + I would also argue the capability to know when you can improvise or not (experience?)

Once you get the idea of how the stages work and what you can get away with and what you have to completely avoid, you can start going to the drawing board and see what works out

Since HSE started I have seen top teams ironically from both sides of the ladder
There were occasions where we all went with overkill teams and there were times where a someone who doesn't rank high had opened the eyes of higher rankers with simple teams

I wouldn't say it's a privilege to discuss the mode, but you will feel out of place if you don't understand the basics of what you need to achieve to win battles or score higher up the ladder.

honestly the ceiling in lg is higher but the floor is low enough for f2p to have a shot at top 500

• there are more variables involved, namely time sink, patience, the works

LG rewards creativity and has different avenues to hit leaderboard despite increasingly standardized clears

Meanwhile if you don't have specific units in HS no amount of skill will save you

Because you also have to fish for variances on top of it, so agency is comparatively very limited

Only reason I think LG is tad easier is because in my opinion in goes like this

It's easier to hit higher on LG - if you have the time and dedication (and enough units)
Also LG has the same battles everytime. Meaning you know what they will do 100% if you study enough or re-play enough times. In LG you can really get creative with how you do your runs suboptimal (optimals being crazy solos sometimes). You can use eggmons really well. You have a lot of different ways to climb.

In HSE you need the time, dedication, the luck and nearly always the best version of the meta units. In HSE the cycle your opponents take can ruin your super MPR run. Example you flinch but the opponent queued a TM - yeha you're screwed.
