Alola is easiest to build for. It has a disproportionately huge number of characters with +3/-1 stat spreads, and a full Elite Four (Johto has only half, Kalos is missing half, Galar has no Elite Four to begin with)

The first thing you need to know about the current popular methods is:
The interaction can be savescummed to a limited extent
The moment you select the choice that ends the interaction, the game autosaves clientside-- so you can't quit/reopen the app for another attempt.
But if you quit/reopen at any time before the final, fateful choice... all your items/Interactions are refunded to you
The Specs and the Shovel microphone are dirt cheap; may as well use them on every Interaction
The Juice and the Ring are somewhat costly, and they sort of hinder each other a little; if you reset for a good opener, you could get away with using one or the other but not both.
How do they hinder each other? Well... When a conversation option spawns, it won't re-spawn for the rest of that conversation, even if you didn't pick it. Meaning the Ring will "use up" all the Hot Topics in the first 7 turns or so.
Max Vibes can only trigger once, so the Boost Juice only modifies the first Hot Topic you pick...
So the first seven turns with both Boost Juice and the Feel Ring would be something like
Turn 1: no attention loss (so you don't need a Hot Topic)
Turn 2: no attention loss (so you don't need a Hot Topic)
Turn 3: Select a Hot Topic to enter Max Vibes (slight attention loss)
Turn 4: no attention loss due to Max Vibes
Turn 5: no attention loss due to Max Vibes
Turn 6: A normal turn
Turn 7: The Feel Ring will probably run out of Hot Topics to feed you at this point, meaning it only meaningfully helped you on Turns 6 and 7 (You can safely reset before choosing your option on Turn 3 to force a Hot Topic on that turn without the ring)
With the Ring but not the Juice, the Max Vibes will not be guaranteed on the first Hot Topic, so you're more likely to get more benefit out of the Hot Topics spawning in the first seven turns
You can see which conversation options spawn for each trainer, the topics they are categorized in, and their base score values, with the /lodge command-- ideally in the #bot-zone channel if it's for your personal use rather than showing someone else.
Anyway, my strategy is as I posted: all 3 help items but no Ring; reset for a Hot Topic on turn 3.

Battle Facility Foe, Villain, and Rival theme skill give Rare Cache, though sometimes this overlaps with one of the categories above (e.g. Leon and Blue are Champion instead, sometimes)
Alola is really easy to build teams for, since it has so many Trial Givers
+3 bonuses everywhere, ripe for stacking
Contrast Johto which has half an Elite Four and no Champion (Koga and Bruno are Kanto, Lance is also Kanto for some reason despite literally telling us repeatedly that he lives in Blackthorn City-- which is in Johto)
Or Galar which doesn't have an Elite Four at all

Hoenn has some problems
There isn't an Elite Four striker to go with its +6 region-match Red bonus on Steven (6+3 is 9, and then either Team A or Omni Extract would bring it to 10)
There is only one Elite Four Tech to go with May and her +4 region-match yellow bonus (4+3+3 would be 10 without needing team A or Omni)
Meaning you would need Space Steven (i.e. spent gems on him right before anniversary) to complete the efficient yellow 10 team
Hoenn has three Villains, multiple Battle Facility Foes, and a Rival, though, so you can stack Rare Cache
Just... Possibly not as effectively as Alola (SSLusa and Masked Royal with the +3s)

dunno if this helps but in Shield you battle Allister again in the tournament thing that basically is the equivalent of an elite four battle. so maybe the dev team tried to make up for galars lack of e4 units and just gave him that? (tho Bea is Allisters Sword equivalent but she's just a 1/1)
can't explain the role colors not matching up tho, I feel it really is a mix up more than anything
