There's a chance PLA might've been initially an actual Sinnoh remake if the modern player room found is any indication but as time goes it became the PLA we know today
But audience has been asking for Sinnoh remake, and a reimagination is certainly not smth that's on the majority's mind before PLA was revealed.
Out of fear that PLA could alienate those audience, they just hastily contacted a smaller studio to do BDSP

After some time, some units were bound to have repeated pokemon, there is only so many pokemon a trainer could pair up with while making sense. Furthermore, the pokemon themselves are what gives DeNA the least amount of work, since they just take the models and sounds from the actual pokemon games. In reality, I find it pleasing that the new trainers got to pair up with their signature pokemons, making said pokemons relevant again, as it is rare for people to use say, og steven and metagross (as its a very outdated and underwhelming unit in general).

Imho, they could have had an option to add more passives, improve the move sets (it would be cool if for example it was done through a rework of the og unlocking items). In order to incentivize people to get those pairs or raise the sync level, they could lock each update behind a move level increase

So far i see DeNa wont change base move effects probably due to legal reasons of preventing from being sued due to changing from base. So they can only touch up through grids, mega if they still havent able to mega, custom cookie
