Anything inside of the top two tiers for me tend to be unskippables on the trainer side of things. Second tier is mostly me being like “if they’re competing with those above I might have my hand forced” lol

Okay, I think this is a little bit better as a second pass-through. I also decided to include the blue tier this time because there are a handful of characters that haven't made an appearance yet that I would like to see. Some other notes about it:
Still doesn't feature the Paldean units, but Juliana, Nemona, Penny, Iono, Poppy, and Perrin (edit: also Carmine and Lacey) would be somewhere in the green tier and a few others would be somewhere in the blue tier
This list doesn't separate Tate and Liza and likely neither would DeNA, but for the purposes of my list, Liza is actually up in the green tier
Characters who either haven't appeared or have been in the game for a while and haven't gotten fun new outfits not variety would likely go up in priority if they appeared, though maybe not by a full tier

I just calculated how much USD my gem count is worth. It's around 1,100 USD.

This is why we save: to avoid dropping these kind of sums on gems (my calcs aren't based off of bundles)

What were your 3 biggest regret pulls and why.

1. Emmet - i pulled him as it was the first ever 3* gear event and im scared that people will be mad at me as i only have brock and ssbrock also no olivia.

2. palmarnie - i pulled her not due to fave but because swept by the zone meta and thought that she can boost gloria, hop, solgaleo but then i realised, i not gonna spend move candies on non faves so she gonna stay 1/5.

3. Palbea - because ice supports in that time is kinda mid like Glacia, and i thought she will be nice with hleon because she give pmun and have hail stuffs but not a fave

So in conclusion, just stick with fave and be rewarded...now i have Regice, Black Kyurem and Articuno for ice, also Jirachi and Registeel for steel...i should just waited and maybe saved myself around 60k gems

   -That triple featured pokefair banner really shafted me. If I recall correctly he was featured together with Classic Red and Diantha, I only got Classic red x 1 copy when I spend a pity worth of gems and ending up having to pity for Ingo. Kinda regretted it due to shaft, and not really using him often too since very few of my rosters really want sandstorm. Maybe might use him often I somehow get him to 3/5 in the future.

For those TLDR ppl, don't be fooled by the 2%/1.5%x3 rate banners. You never know how unlucky you can get.

I experienced it first hand, i forgot but iirc around 3/4 Pokefairs costs me pity to get 1 copy

It made me realise, 1% rate MF and 2% rate PF dont have much difference, sure the rate is doubled but between 99% of not getting the pair you want and 98% of the time doesn't differ much.

1. SS Giovanni. The only unit I pulled for meta because I really needed the ground and poison coverage. Now I have Cynthia (for free!) who I like better as a character and I've been using OG Roxie for poison. I haven't touched SS Gio for a while because he demands a looot of gauges.

I think that's the only pull I regret, all my other limiteds I pulled because of faves

2. SS Giovanni. I got him on a random multi because he was new and looked interesting, but I have never actually used him

My only real regret is also Archie, and because I was inherently just stupid when I pulled for him. I was spreading out my pulls over the banner's duration to do some dailies and all, got to around 385-390 scout points and the banner was ending soon. I was super busy around then & misread the date the banner was going to end cos timezones, didn't pull on the last day expecting to finish off the pity the next day, only to find the banner was gone. I had the gems and everything To this day I have no Archie

There's only one pair that I 100%, give-me-back-my-gems regret, and that is:

1. SS Mina - 18k gems for an incredibly underwhelming 1/5 kit, and one of the only VAs in PMEX that I actively dislike hearing and want to mute. She's very much benched

In terms of "probably should have skipped but you're here now ig"

2. SST Red - 15k gems, have never EX'd him and he basically just collects dust. Great kit but the character is so uninteresting to me that I just. Forget I have him most of the time

Runner up there is 3. Ash, and he's not at #2 solely bc he was a YOLO multi and only cost 3k. I don't like Journeys Ash, find his kit boring af, and keep him benched. Just got caught up in the 3rd anni hype

re. the pulling regrets i suppose i sort of regret going all the way to pity on UnoVA banner instead of bailing early once I got SS Hilbert, since SS Hilda has felt kinda underwhelming so far -- but it's not much of a regret, because a) this month is skip and b) my "want-to-pull" list is extremely short as it is so I can't imagine any better rerun banner to have pulled anyway

Saw your posts and yeah avoiding the mix is hard, especially when it's always here popping up before they free daily
But you already get past 5/5 mred, you need to stop, consider:

• It's real moneys, try to plan your yearly spendings before it's too late. Check the best deals and put a self limit
• The pool will likely be upgraded in the future, so don't rush it
• Select scouts are already a thing, way cheaper and safe to get
  (Basically it's random units vs 10 guaranteed new units)
• Hide the flex channel, I personally can't look at it anymore bcs insanely lucky pulls
• Start using the pull simulator, it's really helpful to sedate gambling needs, even more when there's nothing much left to do

And don't be tempted if it gives something
Pull simulator gave me a triple pull on penny but I just ignored that

The easiest way to counter the desire to wanting a new unit is to content with what you have right now.

And the best way to do that is to read kits... learn how each pair interacts with each other and learn each pair's needs

Proper teambuilding can make any unit work.

A good approach is to always pull for a character if you like them and have 36.6k gems

The month ended up being more eventful for me than I originally planned for but that’s part of why I save, so I don’t have to leave empty handed when I see something I want. Still have a good chunk of gems unclaimed (somewhere around the +1k mark)

i just realized something that'd prob be more evil than Variety pairs. a banner type that's basically just the pokemon (since, if they do our player character in a banner someday, itd literally just be that essentially)
like basically an eggmon as a "full" sync pair

worst part is i could 100% see dena doing it someday prob would be more of a slap in the face than a fav mon being on a variety banner
