when it comes to Pokémon specifically, I only have one number one priority fave left, and...the only sync pair right now who has that fave is a sync pair that I don't even like in the first place, and the only other sync pair who'd most likely have that fave would only become playable some time after VA has fully concluded (which is still a long way to go, so I can just easily amass the required gem amount until that point)

now, if we go to the lower priority faves among the Pokémon, then it's...entirely too many to count, sadly

but to keep it relevant to my question:

I like all the Legendary Sinnoh Trio mons equally, which means I like Dialga as much as Palkia and Giratina (even though I don't particularly care for Lucas personally)
Latios is in a bit of a weird situation where I do prefer Latias over Latios, but still prefer the duo of Latios and Latias over just Latias separately, not to mention I do have a little bit of nostalgia bias for Brendan (not enough to put him in my Top 5 favorite trainers, but still)

Well, if you’re here to mention that you have an urge that you want to work towards fighting against better, this would be the place to do it

Just remember that all these little things you think “aren’t that big of a deal” add up to multis you now couldn’t afford to hit pity with, faster than you think

Especially because when you’re in the state of mind to act in such a way, it’s not just a one-off. Even just 2 multis a month scratch off 6k, now you’re 2 pities behind where you should be this year. You’re at 1 when you should’ve had 3, and that’s being conservative in many people’s cases

One thing that might help with this urge, is to write down how many gems that would cost on a piece of paper. Try to distract yourself with something else, and having successfully done so, that’s +3k gems to your name you wouldn’t have had otherwise (for example). Next time the urge returns, write below that previous number again. Every successful attempt builds off of the other. At the end of the month (or whatever works best for you), tally up how much you saved resisting the urge

I’m not saying that’s all it takes to fight your urges, but this might at least give you another point of positive affirmation for your saving efforts & combatting it more effectively

Considering your name it wound be rather difficult to save as dena likes to release a new meta/flavor unit of the month, well monthly and it’s why we usually don’t recommend pulling for meta as this game is pretty easy with just the 3-4* gacha we have that are capable of clearing 2K CS and is capable of getting streaks of 10 in legendary gauntlet.
When beginning to save we usually recommend having favorites and refusing to pull for anyone but those favorites or if you don’t have any favorites having a select play style that you look for in your units like having an affinity for debuffers (as an example)
