#Print randomly stops

I was 3 days into a print and went to check on my printer only to find it had stopped. I managed to measure where it left off at, cut my object in slicer and went back at it. A couple hours into the print again I came home to it having stopped and gave me this error again. What's going on and why is it randomly stopping mid print?

That error means the printer is trying to set the extruder to a certain temp, and it isn't getting to that temp.

I'd check the heater and thermistor wires

What I dont get is why it was going for days before it happened, and then a couple hours before it happened again.

wires wear through, crimps get loose, etc

You didnt say what hot end you have. Is the silicon sock not on all the way or did you take it off by chance?

Wires are relatively new though so wear seems unlikely. I have the Toolhead Upgrade foe the V-Core 3 which came with the Rapido, and I only did this upgrade a few months ago. The silicon sock is on but now that I am looking at it, there's a possibility it might be a little too high up on the extruder. There's some tearing to it I caused when trying to pry it off when some filament cooled up inside it. I'll try adjusting that and going from there. Where can I find a replacement sock?

So I took my sock off and the tiny zip tie looks like it burnt off and fell down in 3 pieces. Sock probably needs replacing for sure. But it still stays on. Would it being just a little too high up effect it that much?

You had a zip tie under the sock?

It was the one holding the wires for the thermistor and heater together I believe. Tiny white one.

Ah, that should not have happened unless you put the sock on wrong. Sounds like the wires may have gotten scorched as well.

Well now my extruder isn't heating up at all so I guess I've figured out my problem. No idea how it happened but I've got some parts to order and work to do. Ugh....
