end stop on ebb 36

I have a manta m8p with a ebb36 tool head finishing the setting up of the printer, the xtop connected to the ebb36 is always showing as triggered. if i connect it the board (using different wires) it works cant seem to fiigure out what is going on

to add unless i have the x end stop connected to the main board and active in the config file it always shows as triggered. i've turned sensorless on and it still shows as triggered

Comment this out

And add a ^ in front of the pin name here, so it becomes:

endstop_pin: ^toolboard:x_endstop_pin

see if that works

@hazy yew no didn't make any difference, i've recompiled the firmware, i've changed the wires, i've changed the switch, still the same
