#v-minion x axis grinding/slipping

Hey everyone. I recently purchased the V-minion on the pre Black Friday special and have been enjoying using the printer till today. Today when I wanted to start printing something, during the bed mesh I noticed that the belt had slipped and the toolhead was bashing against the stop end. Easy fix right? Tighten the belts. So I did and it didn’t help. I’ve now removed the motor on the x axis to check that the pulley was secure, taken the toolhead off of the linear rail block to check the block and rail and I’ve tightened every screw I can find till it almost split plastic. I put it all back together and things were fine for a few hours. 65% into my 5 hour print and things start going back to before. As it stands now, I can’t home the printer. I attached two video clips showing the movement with both a loose belt and a tight belt. I’m not really sure what else to check. The printer isn’t even 2 months old so I can’t think it’s a hardware issue, but this is always possible. Anyone have ideas as to what the issue is?

After searching previous posts, I've replaced the cable to determine if it is a crimp problem and nothing changed.

Other suggestions were around endstops and the such; I check that my setup didnt have these issues

Guess its time to swap the stepper motor with one of the others and see if that makes a difference

I switched stepper motors between the X and Y, and the problem seems to still persist on the x axis with the motor I previously had on the y axis.

so at least i can say: It's not the motor, or the cable, or belt tension, or my endstop.

everything is assembled correctly ( it's worked for weeks with no issues) as far as i know. So final check is the linear rail.

rail off, looks fine. Took the block off and checked the bearings, didn't find any missing.

re-assembled and still cant home the X and get the same noises as in the clip.

So, even though I changed the stepper motor cables to test them and still got the same result, turns out the black wire right at the crimp started sparking while I moving it around to investigate, and burnt off...

a bit of a botched soldering job after, and things seem to be to normal.

For me when I home for the first time it seems that the X axis makes more noise then the other, is yours the same?
