but dont do sensorless homing yet
no offense, but this leads to potential damage on your printer if you dont know sure what you are doing
you should postpone that to a later point
also, forget the screen a the beginning
just build the standard kit and make it work
later then the updates
the screen is not a priority for now, it tells me ready but the status that the 3d printer is not connected.... but i dont worry about that now
and if i dont have any endstops at all?
No i won't install because I will set the points later, and till then i wont even home it for now
I just need to make it run so i can move the head, test the fans, extruder etc
you dont need to make your own config
ratos is doing that for you
please stick with ratos
Man, if ratos does everything for me why didn't it work at first boot
Did you follow the instructions like I posted originally?
Start with https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation and come back here when you run into an issue. Be sure to read everything
MCU 'toolboard' shutdown: ADC out of range
This generally occurs when a heater temperature exceeds
its configured min_temp or max_temp.
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Printer is shutdown
wonrg thermistor config or cabling
however
come back if you have a clean ratos install and then we will heklp yiou
it doesnt make any sense to help you with a selfmade config file
do not copy any files
ypu will mess up the stuff
makle a clean isntall and then come back
As Helge said, CM4 if you have it, otherwise CB1
I am booting the cm4
as we speak
before it said up to date now it tells me
Okey, installed and updated
i selected the installtion macro "Install vcore three config"
that is not the next step. Please follow the documentation
sorry
I installed the os went to update everything, than configure?step=1, now i selected the vcore
and it flashed the manta board successfully?
yes
Now i get the Klipper reports: SHUTDOWN
MCU 'mcu' shutdown: ADC out of range
This generally occurs when a heater temperature exceeds
its configured min_temp or max_temp.
i think because its connected to the ebb
the temp sensor of the hotend
you need to install the printer template first
I did
and configure your printer.cfg
I did change the board
this is a thermistor error, either you have it conected to the wrong port on the board or configured it wrong
there is much more than jsut selecting the baord
READ THE WHOLE PRINTER.CFG LINE BY LINE please
Did you plug everything in according to https://os.ratrig.com/docs/boards/btt/manta-m8p-11#wiring ?
Which manta board do you have? 1.0 or 1.1?
didnt youread the start how i wired it ? almost everything that is on the head is on the EBB
Items connected to BTT EBB 42 1.2:
-LGX Lite Large Gears Extruder
-Mosquito Magnum Hotend
-Rat Rig "SuperPinda" probe by Pepperl & Fuchs (Inductive 5VDC Sensor)
-1 x Fan - 4028 Axial - Delta FFB0412UHN-SM36 (12V 1.90A 22000RPM) Part cooling
-1 x Fan - 40mm Axial Brushless 24V DC - 1500mm Cable - GDSTime High Quality (Double Ball Bearing) €5.05 Hot end cooling
and the thermistor
everything else is on the mobo
and connected as it shows
no, because you have been skipping around on steps. I am going through them one by one to see where you went wrong
okey, whats the following now
enable the toolboard in the printer.cfg
i uncommented everything that i need in the cfg
i did mr helge
i even sent you the cfg
you mean the self made one
And you flashed the EBB 42 as well using ratos?
ok, please post pictures of your wiring
the fans that are for part cooling and extruder are blowing realy fast rn
They do that by default as a safety measure
oh because i seen that the heater can get hot while updating ebb
When a MCU board detects an error and shuts down, as a safety it turns all the fans on max
the thermistor is connected in to the 4 pin connector on the ebb, pins used 2 and 3
does your wiring match https://os.ratrig.com/docs/toolboards/btt/ebb-42-12#wiring ?
wait i will change because at first i had it here but then while going throught the ebb manual
ok
Don't use the MAX31865. Many people have had issues with it (myself included). Just use the normal thermistor port
you probably need to change the thermistor type. What thermistor do you have?
thats a PT1000
pt1000
put this in the USER OVERRIDES section
[extruder]
sensor_type: PT1000
cool
now it connects with no problem thank you very much
and now i need to add the override for 5610
and add endstop switches
f***
do i really need to ? XD
well if i really have to i will, but for now what can we do else
Do a search here and you find many people who have spent days trying to get it to work. Is that worth saving a few dollars?
switches will be installed today in a hour or so
I know that many people were doing that for days and i know i will too but its for a friend that has a shop and has a lot of orders to be done, so i am searching for all possible help to get it working
will 1 endstp be enough
Maybe? You will still have to tune the drivers because you have to set it so that both motors (because both motors are used to move x and y) stallguard agree
even more reason to go for endstops. Can't beat physical endstop reliability.
Can someone send me a link where those endstops are in stock please ?
if possible EU warehouse
checkout #self-sourcing for the pinned messages
how so? You either have to do the sensorless tuning or install endstops.
are you for real, why did i have to buy the endstops now ? and couldnt anybody help me with sensorless back then ?
Making fun out of a noob aint fun bro, i think that we all were at some point in live newbies to this technology...
noone is making jokes, we are just trying to help you
The ratrig kit comes with endstops, so you shouldn't have to buy anything.
connect the endstops as in the ratrig doc described, enable physical endstops in your printer.cfg
Otherwise, you will have to tune the settings for sensorless, as everyone's printer is different
IDK dont blame me i should have told you that a friend bought it on its own from the website and something from btt etc... and i am just an electrician/a little bit of a programer thats all, I don't have much knowlage about 3d printers firmware such as klipper, I am basicly new to this. I own an cr10 but thats just a small printing hobby nothing special. and he asked me to do the coding and hardwere stuff so thats why i am here now
basically you have to make the choice:
- ease of setup and running - choose endstops
- less wires to deal with - choose sensorless homing
If you still want sensorless homing, you have should start with reading the documentation from klipper (as that is what RatOS is) https://www.klipper3d.org/TMC_Drivers.html#sensorless-homing
if you install endstops, move on to https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration#verify-endstops-and-z-probe
Well and what would you prefer, whats best and why noti the other one ?
I did endstops - bulletproof, and I didn't care about the extra wires or weight
Thank you mr.
now he will use endstops
and i have to configure tmc5160 drivers
and i did
changed the configs for x y z z1 and z2 to the path where the files are locatted in steppers folder 5160 folder
and added new lines [stepper x tmc5160]... but i dont know which are the right config lines for manta m8p
for any sort of configuration issue, you should upload your current printer.cfg
i will as soon as he comes home and makes the ratos accessible
in the mean time, it probably would be helpful to read https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration/advanced-stepper-configuration
looks at this part in the documentation I sent earlier
Notice how we no longer include a speed limit config or a tmc2209 config. We need to do reproduce the function of these configs ourselves in the user overrides section.
the printer.cfg example there isn't in your printer.cfg
But, what specific error are you getting?
hello, well the problem right now is that his main modem died and now we have to wait for a technician to visit him and replace the modem... I can't say anything else than that this project is just a big nightmare, everything is just collapsing together
Hello now we are back on track
Now I would need assistance with connecting the btt TFT43 touch lcd with marlin mode
That is outside the scope of RatOS. You would have to google for this information (using btt tft43 with klipper). We recommend using hdmi or dsi touch screens (That's why RatOS ships with klipperscreen).
okey i told that to him
now i have a problem where Y 0 is 1cm away from endstop
X is good
Adjust the end stop?
yea i did that, but the main problem is that when i press X it goes in the right way, but when i press Y it goes away from the endstop
i checked the connections and everythomg is fine, using the motors that are mentioned above at the start
akay
this is fixed, now i have trouble with extruder that wont move
It works on the ebb unit but not on the mainboard with tmc drivers
any idea ?
why does ratos want to downgrade
ebb 42 1.2
EBB42 v1.2 detected
Version mismatch
The board is running version v0.11.0-267-g01ed8096 but you your pi is on version v0.11.0-271-g5f990f93. If you want to update your board click 'flash again' below.
Any idea what? Your klipper log doesn't show errors
v0.11.0-267-g01ed8096
v0.11.0-271-g5f990f93
Your pi is 4 versions ahead. They have to be on the same version
